This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.\nJob Title: Quality Engineer\nLocation: Conyers, GA\nWhat we’re looking for:\n\nWe are looking for a Quality Engineer who will coordinate with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Supply Chain to resolve production and customer quality issues through systematic data collection and problem-solving methodologies that ensure sustainable quality improvement. The Quality Engineer will accomplish their objectives both as an individual contributor and as a team leader and will be expected to help build & foster a business environment that embraces quality assurance (QA) and continuous improvement as a key to the company’s ongoing growth and success.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for in this role:\n\nUse formal, data-driven problem-solving methodologies (e.g., PDCA, A3, 6-sigma, etc.) to drive their efforts forward and deliver sustainable results.\nDevelop and implement data collection and analysis projects to define capability of current production processes to define improvement opportunities\nUnderstanding and defining production capabilities and applying capability data to engineering & production quality standards and specifications.\nDeveloping measurements and effectively communicating data to various organizational levels.\nParticipating in lean initiatives, such as 5s, value stream teams, and blitz events as required.\nWorking with manufacturing, continuous improvement, and other teams when cross-functional problem-solving initiatives are required.\nWorking with Industrial Engineering and Accounting to determine the financial impact of the cost of poor quality (COPQ) and the benefits of continuous improvement projects.\nDeveloping training material, operating procedures, work instructions and training individuals/teams as needed in updated processes and procedures.\nOrganizing meetings, events, and associated logistics related to QA activity.\nWhat are the basic qualifications?\n\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.\nExperience supporting quality and improvement initiatives within a manufacturing or industrial environment.\n3-5 years’ experience applying quality engineering principles, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement tools to drive process and product quality improvements.\n\nTo be a great fit for the role:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred\nProject a positive, solution-seeking attitude in all business interactions.\nSolve complex business problems in both office and manufacturing environments.\nEmploy a variety of QA / problem-solving tools and know when each is appropriate to use.\nReject status quo and think beyond roadblocks, past experience, current practices to overcome hurdles and employ creative solutions.\nWork well in team environments, both as individual contributor and as a leader.\nMotivate and lead team members to participate, support, and share your enthusiasm and vision.\nEffectively communicate verbally, visually, and in writing to sell your ideas to various levels within the organization.\nAdapt and stay flexible within multiple business environments and audiences.\nWork at ease in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nWorking knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).\nIn-depth knowledge of problem solving & quality assurance tools (PFMEA, CP…) with practical application experience.\nHow We Define Our Values and Why You Should Join Our Team:\nThe backbone behind our collection of outstanding businesses is a team of dedicated employees who protect and enhance our valued reputation for quality and delivering what we promise.
