This collaborative environment delivers FRESH THINKING, reassuring our customers that they choose the best when they choose to work with the people of Dover Food Retail.\nJob Title: Team Lead - Production (Sheetmetal, Paint, Kitting, Welding, Woodshop)\nFLSA Status: Hourly / Non-Exempt\nDepartment: Operations\nSupervisor: Production Supervisor\nShift: 3rd\nWhat we are looking for:\n\nThe Department Lead is responsible for coordinating the activities of production and employees by acting as a bridge between employees and the Production Supervisor.\nWhat you’ll be responsible for in this role:\n\nEnsure a safe working environment and that the team is working safely\nSet the example for safety, attendance, productivity, attitude, etc.\nAssign tasks to meet daily production targets\nEnsure team members have required PPE, parts, tools, etc., to perform assigned tasks\nProvide on-the-spot verbal coaching or correction and document as required, both good and bad\nKeep supervisor informed of individual performance trends, both good and bad\nEnsure production standards are met\nMediate conflict between team members\nUnderstand at a basic level employment compliance risks (ex: ADA, FMLA, sexual harassment, bullying, threats of violence, etc.), and report to department leadership and HR in a timely manner\nEnsure team members are trained to perform assigned tasks\nComplete audits and sign offs in respective areas\nEnsure critical information is communicated at shift turnover\nDemonstrated understanding of production operations\nAssist assigned department with tracking parts, resolving issues, and communicating with team members\nAssume other activities and responsibilities from time-to-time as directed by supervisor\nRead and comprehend a job order, bill of materials, blueprint, text, or schematic drawings\nIdentify parts and part descriptions using work order information and identify proper tools needed to perform duties in respective area\nAssist with lean initiatives on the floor and participate and/or lead continuous improvement events\nMust be able to adapt to rapidly changing situations\nPerforms any assembly-type function, using hand or power tools\nUtilize appropriate information given on material gauging and dimensioning\nRead rulers, tape measurers, metal squares, and other measuring instruments\nFasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or fasteners\nIdentify maintenance needed on equipment and tooling\nWork at different workstations as production needs require\nMaintain the work area in a clean, safe, and orderly manner\nUse proper safety equipment and apparel required for each operation on individual’s product line or work cell\nPerform other duties as assigned\nWhat are the basic qualifications?\n\n· High School Diploma/GED required\n· Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment\nTo be a great fit for the role:\n\nTeam oriented - values the synergy of a team and operates as a team player\nEffectively collaborates, engages others in discussion and is hands-on in problem solving\nA fast learner able to quickly come up to speed on business processes to manage and serve the needs of the organization\nA passion for getting things right\nCan-do attitude, committed to finding solutions\nDemonstrated ability to read and comprehend blueprints and schematic drawings\nDemonstrated proficiency with handheld tools and other measuring devices\nDemonstrated proficiency with written and verbal communication and/or instruction\nPhysical Demands:\n\nOccasionally - Sitting, stooping/twisting, kneeling, squatting, reaching, gripping, foot use, visual acuity, and lifting up to 75lbs\nFrequently - Standing, walking, pushing/pulling, keyboarding, and lifting up to 50lbs\nundefined*Occasionally - Occurs up to 1/3 of the time*Frequently - Occurs 1/3 to 2/3 of the time\n\nThis position is eligible to earn commissions based on performance metrics and other criteria outlined in our applicable commissions plan.\n\nWe consider several job-related, non-discriminatory factors when determining the pay rate for a position, including, but not limited to, the position’s responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, a candidate’s education/training, the position’s location, and the key skills needed for the position.
