This role will focus on developing, maintaining, and enhancing complex software systems supporting the XKS mission. The position requires strong C++ development expertise, with an emphasis on data ingestion, processing, and component development within high-performance analytic environments. The engineer will work as part of a core development team to design, integrate, test, and optimize mission-critical software solutions.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance complex software applications using C++.\n\nDevelop and optimize data ingestion and processing components supporting large-scale analytic systems.\n\nAnalyze system requirements and translate them into software designs, technical specifications, and functional components.\n\nDevelop and integrate software components supporting high-volume data processing and real-time analytic capabilities.\n\nDebug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to improve system reliability and performance.\n\nConduct software testing, code reviews, and quality assurance to ensure compliance with design requirements.\n\nEvaluate software architecture, component reuse, and integration of existing technologies to support system development.\n\nCollaborate with the core development team, systems engineers, and other technical stakeholders to deliver mission-focused solutions.\n\nDevelop and maintain software documentation, test results, and technical artifacts.\n\nSupport software integration, performance optimization, and ongoing system enhancements.\n\nQualifications\nActive TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph completed within the last 5 years required.\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Four additional years of relevant software engineering experience may be substituted for the degree.\n\n14+ years of experience in software engineering supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.\n\nStrong hands-on experience developing and maintaining software using C++.\n\nExperience developing data ingestion, processing, and software components within complex systems.\n\nExperience with software design, development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting.\n\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles, algorithms, and performance optimization.\n\nAbility to work collaboratively within a core software development team.\n\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience supporting XKS or similar Intelligence Community analytic platforms.\n\nExperience developing software for large-scale data processing or high-throughput environments.\n\nFamiliarity with distributed systems, real-time processing, and complex data architectures.\n\nExperience optimizing C++ applications for performance, scalability, and reliability.\n\nSalary Range\nUSD $120,000.00 - USD $145,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
