This position will work within a multidisciplinary project team supporting construction projects involving buildings and utility infrastructure. The Structural Engineer will help define project scope, develop technical and construction documentation, support engineering activities throughout construction, and provide oversight of architectural and engineering firms supporting facility projects.\nNOTE: This position requires regular onsite work at the Knolls Site and may be performed remotely for one day a week. An active DOE L clearance is required.\nResponsibilities\nConduct and document industrial hygiene exposure assessments as part of comprehensive assessments of site processes.\nPerform field surveillance activities to identify and evaluate potential workplace health hazards.\nConduct workforce interviews in support of industrial hygiene assessments.\nReview established procedures and existing industrial hygiene data.\nPerform industrial hygiene sampling and interpret sampling results.\nConduct sampling and exposure assessments for potential hazards, including:Asbestos.\nSilica.\nVolatile organic compounds (VOCs).\nWelding fumes.\nNoise dosimetry.\nArea noise.\n\nUtilize and calibrate industrial hygiene sampling equipment.\nAssist with general industrial hygiene activities across the site.\nApply professional judgment when supporting industrial hygiene exposure determinations.\nCoordinate with multidisciplinary teams in support of industrial hygiene and safety activities.\nQualifications\nRequired:\nAbility to obtain a DOE L clearance.\nBachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Structural Engineering.\n5+ years of experience performing structural engineering tasks, including:Development of contract documents.\nEngineering calculations.\nCost estimating.\n\nWorking knowledge of applicable building codes and standards.\nExperience with construction administration, including activities such as:Submittal reviews.\nRequests for Information (RFIs).\nConstruction inspections.\n\nDesired:\nAn active DOE L clearance.\nEngineer-in-Training (EIT) certification and/or Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.\nEngineering consulting experience.\nWorking knowledge of:New York State Building Codes.\nAISC standards.\nASCE standards.\n\nSalary Range\nUSD $120,000.00 - USD $140,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
