We recommend applying as soon as possible.\nWhat You'll Do\nYour key accountabilities will include:\nDevelop, test and debug high-quality software solutions, leading by example and championing engineering best practices across the team.\nLead the design and implementation of scalable applications and third-party integrations, partnering closely with Architecture and wider technology teams.\nConduct thorough code reviews to ensure high-quality, maintainable code with strong automated testing and performance standards.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, product managers and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.\nMentor and coach engineers while driving operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident management and continuous improvement initiatives.\nWho You Are\nYour skills and experience will include:\nProven experience as a Full Stack Engineer, developing robust, scalable front-end and back-end systems and integrations within enterprise environments.\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, automated testing and DevSecOps practices, with experience across modern CI/CD pipelines.\nExpertise in cloud-based application design and delivery, with proficiency in technologies such as Java, SQL, JavaScript, Git and related engineering toolsets.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and influence decision-making.\nExperience mentoring and developing engineers, alongside knowledge of AI/ML and GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, with practical application across the software development lifecycle.\nDesirable experience:\nKnowledge of the retail domain, particularly Supply Chain and Transport operations, including multi-channel logistics, freight and haulier integrations, and third-party transport planning and execution systems.\nTech stack\nThe teams use a variety of technologies, including:\nLanguages & Frameworks: Java (Spring Boot), .NET, Angular, Angular JS, React, TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber, Jmeter, Python, AI/ML \nCloud & Infrastructure: Azure IAAS and PAAS services and apps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform \nData & Messaging: Kafka (Confluent), IBM MQ/MQFTE, SFTP \nDatabases: SQL Server on Azure \nAPI & Integration: Apigee, REST APIs, Windows Services \nObservability: Dynatrace, Pagerduty, Helix \nCI/CD & Quality: GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Semgrep, Snyk, Prisma, Github Advanced Security, Qualys \nAnalytics: Power BI \nWhat’s in it for you?\nWorking at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day.
