We recommend applying as soon as possible.\nWhat You'll Do\nYour key accountabilities will include:\nDevelop, test and support high-quality software solutions, championing engineering best practices and driving continuous improvement across the team.\nLead the design and implementation of scalable applications and third-party integrations, partnering closely with Architecture and technology stakeholders.\nConduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards, ensuring solutions are secure, maintainable, well-tested and performant.\nCollaborate with business stakeholders, product managers and engineering teams to understand requirements and deliver effective technical solutions that meet business needs.\nMentor and support engineers while driving operational excellence through monitoring, alerting, incident management and continuous service improvement.\nWho You Are\nYour skills and experience will include:\nProven track record in full stack engineering, developing robust, scalable front-end and back-end solutions and integrations within complex enterprise environments.\nStrong understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, automated testing practices and DevSecOps, with experience working across modern CI/CD pipelines.\nTechnical proficiency in Java, SQL, JavaScript and related engineering tools, with experience designing and delivering secure cloud-based applications.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.\nExperience mentoring engineers and applying AI/ML and GenAI technologies, including tools such as Copilot, to enhance software development processes and outcomes.\nDesirable experience:\nKnowledge of the retail domain, particularly Supply Chain, Logistics and Transportation systems, including integrations with freight, haulier, transport planning and transport execution platforms.\nExperience working within warehouse environments, Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and Oracle-based platforms with complex stored procedure architectures, supporting modernisation and transformation initiatives.\nTech stack\nThe teams use a variety of technologies, including:\nLanguages & Frameworks: PL/SQL, Java (Spring Boot), .NET, Angular, Angular JS, React, TypeScript, Playwright, Cucumber, Jmeter, Python, AI/ML \nCloud & Infrastructure: Azure IAAS and PAAS services and apps, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform \nData & Messaging: Kafka (Confluent), IBM MQ/MQFTE, SFTP \nDatabases: Oracle and SQL Server on Azure \nAPI & Integration: Apigee, REST APIs, Windows Services \nObservability: Dynatrace, Pagerduty, Helix \nCI/CD & Quality: GitHub Actions, SonarQube, Semgrep, Snyk, Prisma, Github Advanced Security, Qualys \nAnalytics: Power BI \nWhat’s in it for you?\nWorking at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day.
