You also know that nobody outside the profession has ever seriously asked you how it should work.\nWe are asking.\nAdvice documents are the profession’s output. They are also where its capacity quietly disappears - in rewrites, in version control, in the gap between what the adviser said in the room and what finally lands in the file. Every hour spent there is an hour not spent with a client, and it is a large part of why advice in this country is rationed to the people who can afford to wait for it.\nThis role is for someone from inside advice who wants to stop producing those documents one at a time and start designing the system that produces them.\nThe work runs at two levels, and you will do both.\nFor individual firms. You review, edit and build the templates a firm depends on, and configure the company knowledge that makes the output sound like them. You take a newly signed practice from an empty environment to one their paraplanners trust.\nFor the product. Every problem you solve for one firm is a candidate to be solved for all of them. You will spot the patterns, work out which fixes belong in a single template and which belong in the product itself, and help build the scalable solutions - standards, starting templates, reusable structures - that mean the next hundred firms never hit the problem at all. Few people in advice ever get to work at that level.\nWe are looking for a paraplanning expert that has excellent attention to detail and is driven by autonomy. This is a role with a lot of surface area and very little hand-holding, and the proactive half only happens if you make it happen. You need to be comfortable in two very different conversations: with technical leads internally, where you are the person who can say precisely what the output must do and why the current behaviour falls short; and with client stakeholders (advisers, paraplanners, licensee leadership) where you are the person who can explain why a template is built the way it is.\nAbout Marloo\nAustralia has a financial advice problem. There are far too few advisers for the number of people who need advice, and the ones we have spend a large share of their week on admin instead of clients. That gap is why advice is expensive, why it is rationed, and why most Australians never get it.\nMarloo is an AI partner built for Australian financial advisers and their practices. We go beyond taking the administrative weight off advisers so they can serve more clients, better. We're backed by Australia's largest VC, Blackbird Ventures, and we're growing quickly.\nThe role\nYou own how a firm's Marloo environment is built, and how well it holds up once real client work runs through it. Templates and company knowledge together decide whether a firm's documents come out ready to review or ready to rewrite.\nDay to day, the work arrives two ways.\nReactive. Customers raise tickets when a template is not doing what they expected. You interpret what they are actually describing - which is rarely what they wrote - diagnose whether it is the template, the knowledge, the input or the product, and make the amendment. Advice experience is what lets you read a complaint about a missing risk disclosure and know exactly which section broke.\nProactive. You get ahead of it. You train firms on what a good template looks like, run best-practice sessions with their paraplanners and advisers, and turn what you learn from tickets into standards, guidance and reusable templates that stop the same problem recurring across the customer base.\nYou will work day to day with customer success and customer support, and directly with product, engineering and the go-to-market team. You are the person in the building who knows what the output has to look like and why.\nWhat you'll do\nBuild and edit templates. Construct document templates from scratch and repair existing ones so they produce complete, compliant, well-structured advice documents every time.\n\nConfigure company knowledge. Set up the firm-specific context - approved language, process, preferences, house positions - that makes a firm's documents read as theirs.\n\nImplement and onboard. Take a newly signed firm from empty environment to genuinely live, working alongside the account owner and customer success.\n\nResolve template tickets. Interpret customer feedback, reproduce the issue, work out whether it is template, knowledge or product, and fix what you can fix.\n\nTrain on best practice. Run proactive sessions with advisers, paraplanners and admin teams on how to structure and maintain templates well.\n\nScale the solution. Turn repeat issues into documented standards, starter templates, reusable structures and training material, so the next hundred firms never hit the problem at all.\n\nFeed product and engineering. You will see the same failure patterns before anyone else does. Those go back to product and engineering, with the detail that makes them actionable.\n\nGet in the room. Some domestic travel for on-site work, conferences and industry events.\n\nWho we're looking for\nWe are looking for advice experience first. Specifically:\nParaplanners. You have built the documents, fought the templates, and know precisely which sections cause the rework.\n\nEx-advisers. You understand the client conversation on one side and what has to end up in the file on the other.\n\nCompliance officers. You know what watertight actually means, and where documents fail when someone looks closely.\n\nWhat matters more than which of those you have/are:\nYou have a strong understanding of advice strategies, including superannuation, tax, investments, insurance and SMSF.\n\nYou are driven. Large surface area, little hand-holding. The proactive half of this role only happens if you make it happen.\n\nYou are meticulous. This is detail work with real consequences. A template that is nearly right produces hundreds of documents that are nearly right.\n\nYou can hold both conversations. Technical leads internally, where you specify precisely what the output must do and why. Advisers, paraplanners and licensee stakeholders externally, where you explain and train without condescension.\n\nYou are curious about the tooling. You do not need a technical background, but you should be the kind of person who wants to know why the output changed, not just that it did.\n\nYou are comfortable with ambiguity. The product moves fast. What you build in month one may be rebuilt in month four.\n\nYou'll also need full working rights in Australia. We are not able to sponsor visas for this role.\nThe environment\nThe product is changing quickly and so is the way we implement it. You will have a lot of autonomy and need to be genuinely comfortable with ambiguity.\nThe performance bar is high and the team is collaborative.
