The position provides extensive exposure to senior leadership and is intended for a high-potential finance professional with geographic mobility and the desire to progress into a Company Controller role within 2 to 3 years. Although not required, the ideal candidate would be located in the Chicago area, or near an Electrical Group operating location.\nWhy Join Us?\nBenefits effective on day one\nHealth, Dental, Vision \nLife Insurance\nSpouse and Child Life Insurance\nTuition Reimbursement\n401k with Company Match\nCompany Discounts: Travel Services, Technology, Cell Phone Service, Concert Tickets, Amusement Parks, and much more.\nPersonal and leadership development \nKey Responsibilities:\nFinancial Reporting & Consolidation\nLead the consolidation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results across the Electrical Group.\nEnsure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial reporting submitted by business units.\nMonitor month-end close activities and reporting deadlines across operating companies.\nReview significant balance sheet and income statement fluctuations and partner with business unit controllers to investigate and resolve issues.\nPrepare or review consolidation entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other group-level accounting activities.\nPartner with Marmon Corporate Accounting to resolve reporting, consolidation, and accounting matters.\nServe as a key resource and subject matter expert for OneStream and related financial reporting systems.\nAccounting, Controls & Compliance\nPromote compliance with U.S. GAAP, Marmon accounting policies, Standard Practice Instructions (SPIs), and internal control requirements.\nAssist in the design, evaluation, and testing of internal controls and SOX compliance activities.\nMonitor audit findings and remediation efforts to ensure timely resolution of identified issues.\nResearch and document accounting conclusions related to non-routine transactions, acquisitions, restructurings, and other technical accounting matters.\nCoordinate implementation of new accounting standards and corporate reporting requirements.\nSupport financial statement certification processes and other governance activities.\nFinancial Planning & Analysis\nSupport annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes across the Electrical Group.\nAnalyze business performance, profitability, working capital trends, and key financial metrics to identify risks and opportunities.\nPrepare executive reporting, dashboards, presentations, and financial analyses for senior leadership and Quarterly Business Reviews.\nDevelop actionable insights and recommendations to support business decision-making.\nBusiness Partnership & Operational Support\nPartner with business unit controllers and finance leaders to improve financial performance, reporting quality, and process consistency.\nReview significant capital expenditure proposals and monitor post-audit reviews of major investments.\nSupport cross-functional initiatives by providing financial analysis and business insights.\nPromote sharing of financial best practices across the Electrical Group.\nStrategic Initiatives & Continuous Improvement\nParticipate in financial due diligence activities for acquisitions and support post-acquisition integration efforts.\nLead or support finance transformation initiatives focused on automation, standardization, and process improvement.\nIdentify opportunities to enhance reporting efficiency, control effectiveness, and data quality.\nSupport special projects and strategic initiatives for Marmon and Electrical Group leadership.\nLeadership Development\nBuild strong working relationships with business unit controllers and finance teams across the Group.\nServe as a trusted finance resource and mentor for developing finance talent.\nDemonstrate leadership potential and readiness for future progression into a Company Controller role.\nQualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.\nCPA strongly preferred.\nMinimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial reporting, audit, controllership, or finance leadership roles.\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, consolidations, and internal controls.\nExperience working in a multi-entity manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.\nDemonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.\nStrong communication and business partnering capabilities with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.\nExperience with consolidation and financial reporting systems, including OneStream, preferred.\nDemonstrated leadership potential and interest in progressing to a Controller role.\nApproximately 30% travel required.\nPay Range:\n88,000.00 -
