We’recommitted to making a positive impact on the world, providing you with diverse learning and working opportunities, and fostering a culture where everyone’sempowered to be their best.\nThe Standards Engineer serves as the liaison between Marmon Innovation & Technology (I&T) and Marmon Engineered Wire & Cable manufacturing facilities regarding industry standards development, product listings, certifications, and approvals. This role is responsible for supporting product development initiatives, laboratory activities, qualification testing, and regulatory compliance efforts. Success in this position requires active participation in industry standards committees, collaboration with certification agencies, and coordination with engineering and manufacturing teams across multiple locations.\nEssential Responsibilities:\nAttend industry standards committee meetings and provide technical input and recommendations.\nCommunicate and coordinate with manufacturing personnel, engineers, and other stakeholders regarding the interpretation and implementation of industry standards.\nVisit certification and listing agencies and follow up on active projects and approvals.\nMaintain technical documentation, records, and project files as required.\nCoordinate product testing activities and ensure proper documentation of test data and results.\nSchedule, track, and report on the status of active product development programs.\nSupervise designated sample production runs when required to support product development and qualification efforts.\nConduct or direct specialized qualification testing that requires advanced technical expertise and/or offsite support.\nPrepare technical reports, test documentation, certification submissions, and related paperwork.\nSupport organizational initiatives requiring specialized technical knowledge and engineering expertise.\nCollaborate with UL and other certification agencies to support new product listings, certification projects, audits, and maintenance of existing files across multiple facilities.\nAssist with the operation and audit readiness of the UL DAP Laboratory, ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and internal quality procedures.\nTravel as needed to manufacturing facilities, industry committee meetings, testing laboratories, and listing agencies.\nPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned.\nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field required; OR an Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline combined with relevant industry experience.\nWorking knowledge of engineering, manufacturing, testing, and certification processes.\nComputer proficiency with experience using databases and technical software applications; programming experience is a plus.\nStrong organizational, documentation, and project management skills.\nAbility to interpret technical specifications, standards, testing requirements, and engineering documentation.\nAbility to prepare technical reports, papers, and supporting documentation.\nSelf-motivated, results-oriented professional capable of working independently.\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and locations.\nEffective time management and prioritization skills.\nAbility to travel as required.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working with UL, CSA, or other certification and listing agencies.\nKnowledge of wire and cable products, testing standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.\nFamiliarity with ISO/IEC 17025 laboratory requirements and audit processes.\nExperience participating in industry standards organizations and technical committees.\nThis description outlines the primary responsibilities of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties.
