Key activities include defining system architecture, performing design and financial calculations, conducting automation vendor landscaping, developing simulations using Visual Components, Simio, or equivalent software, preparing manufacturing drawings, and generating technical reports. The role is accountable for the quality of deliverables and for ensuring successful procurement, delivery, and commissioning of automated systems.Mandatory Skills:\n8+ years of experience driving manufacturing automation, industrial engineering, process improvement, or factory modernization initiatives.\nProven experience leading automation projects from concept through deployment in manufacturing environments.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation systems, and operational excellence principles.\nExperience defining automation requirements, preparing technical specifications, and evaluating automation technologies with limited operational inputs.\nWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, line balancing, process optimization, workflow analysis, and productivity improvement methodologies.\nExperience performing feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, ROI calculations, and capital investment justification.\nStrong expertise in process mapping, FMEA, root cause analysis, value engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience working with robotics, material handling systems, assembly automation, machine vision, or industrial control systems.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, inspection methodologies, and quality control requirements.\nDemonstrated ability to collaborate with suppliers, equipment manufacturers, and system integrators throughout project execution.\nStrong project management, technical documentation, and engineering communication skills.\nDesired Skills:\nProvide technical leadership for factory automation initiatives from concept development through implementation and operational stabilization.\nKnowledge in simulation and digital manufacturing tools such as Simio, Visual Components, FlexSim, or equivalent platforms.\nLead development and review of manufacturing layouts, automation concepts, process simulations, equipment specifications, and system architecture documentation.\nDrive implementation of robotics, collaborative robots (Cobots), AGVs/AMRs, machine vision, industrial controls, and IIoT-enabled manufacturing solutions.\nApply advanced engineering analysis, simulation studies, productivity modeling, and digital manufacturing techniques to optimize manufacturing performance.\nLead supplier manufacturing scalability initiatives.\nSupport Smart Factory, Industry 4.0, data analytics, and connected manufacturing programs.\nIdentify innovation opportunities through technology scouting, factory modernization.\nDemonstrated technical leadership in executing complex automation and process improvement projects.\nProven ability to independently manage projects while influencing cross-functional global stakeholders.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a structured engineering approach.\nExcellent communication, stakeholder management,
