This role is responsible for ensuring the uninterrupted flow of raw materials and components required to support production while driving supplier performance, cost reduction initiatives, and operational excellence.\nThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing aerospace supply chains, developing dual-source strategies for critical materials, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 requirements. This position plays a key role in supporting manufacturing operations through effective sourcing, inventory optimization, freight management, and supplier quality management.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead all procurement and supply chain activities for aerospace wire and cable manufacturing operations.\nDevelop and execute sourcing strategies that establish dual-source supply for critical materials and services to mitigate risk and improve supply continuity.\nManage procurement of raw materials including bare wire, metals, compounds, tapes, braids, and other production-critical components.\nIdentify and implement cost savings opportunities while achieving annual purchase price variance (PPV) and supplier performance targets.\nEnsure compliance with AS9100 requirements related to supplier management, material traceability, certifications, and externally provided products and services.\nReview and maintain material certifications, test reports, and related documentation to support aerospace quality and traceability requirements.\nManage inventory levels and planning activities for high-value and long-lead-time materials, balancing customer demand, production requirements, and working capital objectives.\nOversee transportation and logistics operations, including LTL, parcel, expedited, and specialty freight shipments.\nOptimize carrier utilization and freight spending through strategic carrier selection, best-value transportation solutions, and logistics performance analysis.\nLead supplier development initiatives, supplier audits, and performance reviews focused on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.\nPartner closely with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and Planning teams to resolve supplier quality issues and material shortages.\nDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions for supplier nonconformances, delivery issues, and quality concerns.\nSupport outside processing requirements, including heat treating, plating, coating, chemical processing, and other specialized aerospace services.\nUtilize ERP/MRP systems to manage purchasing, inventory planning, supplier performance, and procurement analytics.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.\nMinimum of 7 years of progressive supply chain, procurement, or logistics leadership experience within aerospace, wire and cable manufacturing, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.\nStrong knowledge of AS9100 standards and aerospace supplier quality requirements.\nExperience sourcing and managing long-lead-time raw materials including copper, nickel, aluminum, Inconel, stainless steel, and other aerospace-grade metals.\nProven experience developing supplier strategies, dual-source programs, and supplier performance management processes.\nStrong background in inventory optimization, demand planning, and procurement cost management.\nExperience managing freight, transportation, warehousing, and logistics operations.\nDemonstrated success leading supplier corrective actions and resolving complex supply chain challenges.\nProficiency with ERP/MRP systems and advanced data analysis tools.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting aerospace wire, cable, harness, or electrical component manufacturing.\nKnowledge of Nadcap-approved special process suppliers and outside processing management.\nFamiliarity with heavy freight transportation, industrial packaging, and material handling requirements.\nAPICS/ASCM, CSCP, CPSM, or similar professional certification.\nLean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.\nWhat Success Looks Like:\nReliable material availability supporting production and customer delivery commitments.\nReduced supply chain risk through implementation of robust dual-source strategies.\nAchievement of annual cost savings and PPV reduction targets.\nImproved supplier quality, delivery, and responsiveness metrics.\nOptimized inventory levels and working capital performance.\nFull compliance with aerospace quality and traceability requirements.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a supply chain leader who thrives in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment and enjoys driving strategic sourcing, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.\nFollowing receipt of a conditional offer of employment, candidates will be required to complete additional job-related screening processesas permitted or required by applicable law.\nWe are an equal opportunity employer, and all applicants will be considered for employment without attention to their membership in any protected class.
