Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference-apply today!\nBuyer II\nPosition Profile:\nThis position is responsible for oversight of the entire life cycle of defined subcontracts, from developing acquisition strategies and source selection to negotiation, award, cost and schedule management, execution, and closeout. Collaboration and interaction with various departments including but not limited to Supply Chain, Contracts, Program Management, and Engineering, to optimize processes, ensure on time delivery of new products. Strong leadership skills, expertise in Subcontract Management and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders (internal and external) are essential for the success of this role. This role reports to the Director of Supply Chain.\nMinimum Required Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in business, supply chain, technical or administration (or at least 5 yrs. of experience)\n3+ years of experience with make-to-print machined parts, electro mechanical components, and/or electronic assemblies\nAbility to understand/read blue prints is strongly preferred\nAble to define, manage and execute operational plans to meet strategic procurement decisions\nExcellent verbal/written communication and negotiation skills required for multi-faceted interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as any and all outside agents, including but not limited to suppliers\nComputer literate, with MS Office experience, proficient PCs skills, and MRP/ ERP knowledge.\nMust be a US Citizen.\nEssential or Primary / Key Responsibilities\nEvaluate and vet new sources, place and maintain purchase orders\nReview requisitions for accuracy of requirements\nLead and influence cross-functional stakeholders to consensus on key procurement decisions \nContact suppliers regarding status of orders, discrepancies with quantity and quality, etc.\nManage parts shortages caused by supplier delivery delay, non-conforming material or other problems, to resolution\nReschedule purchase orders to meet changing customer needs\nProcess and coordinate replacement of non-conforming material\nCoordinate with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule.\nSolicit and analyze quotes from suppliers for a wide variety of services and commodities in support of production\nRecommend suppliers based on cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities\nInterface with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and management to provide timely status of products and / or problem identification and resolution.\nMember of Internal Program Meetings for assigned programs\nPrepare bid requests for proposal\nUtilize the Company’s inventory tracking system\nAdditional Duties / Responsibilities:\nBring initiatives and activities to closure in a timely manner through effective interaction with individuals, both internal and external to the Marotta organization (as required).\nMaintain knowledge of market prices and trends, engineering developments, and manufacturing method improvements applicable to assigned responsibilities\nAbide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies/procedures to ensure compliance to all regulatory and internal system requirements. \nContribute to a positive and cooperative work environment through effective communication at all levels internal and external to the organization\nActively participate in team meetings, improvement initiatives/programs, etc. and support actions to drive company initiatives/goals\nConsistently demonstrate commitment to company values\nKeep management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.\nAssume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.\nEnsure that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.\nComplete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required.\nWork Environment:\nThis job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/machine shop environment, including, but not limited to: fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration\nTemperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.\nThis is a full-time position.
