Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference-apply today!\nIPT Lead\nPosition Summary:\nThe IPT Lead is responsible for leading technical teams on new product development projects in our Power and Actuation Systems (PAS) Department. This individual will be part of a development team creating creating embedded systems for electrical power systems, and manipulation and control of flight actuation systems and. Activities for this role include requirements definition and management, planning of technical tasks for the team, review designs, integration and testing, release documentation and system validation.\nThe qualified candidate will have either Mechanical, Electrical, or Software Engineering training and experience. This individual will play a key role on high priority programs and have significant interactions with senior engineers, system engineers, test engineers, program managers, and customers. In addition, this individual will directly manage a team of project engineers. The functional leadership portion of this position is estimated to be 25% of indirect support to project team, with the remaining 75% being utilized as direct support to specific project related tasks.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDirect Engineering IPT Lead Responsibilities:Perform the duties of an Engineering IPT Lead.\nManage the technical team performance to project schedule and cost and support the program manager.\nLead the new product development processes of electromechanical systems for commercial and military platforms.\nDemonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, judgment, cooperation, and ability to communicate technical information.\nSupport new business pursuits that address program technical requirements and associated schedule and costs.\nLead a technical team from the beginning to the end of a new development project.\nCommunicate, plan, organize, supervise, and control work in one or more projects concurrently.\nInterface with both commercial and military customers in technical program definition and execution.\nIdentify technical tasks and resources for projects and create engineering development plans, WBS, etc. needed to execute projects.\nManage and control within 10% of approved engineering budget.\nManage system requirements and define lower level requirements.\nOversee/review technical reports to satisfy internal and external deliverables.\n\nFunctional Leadership Responsibilities:Coordinate subordinate employee recruitment, selection and training, performance assessment, work assignments, salary, and recognition/disciplinary actions as it relates to the Engineering IPT Lead role.\nEnsure compliance tasks are completed in a timely manner, and teaching and enforcing processes and procedures.\nDevelop and maintain the communications processes, tools, templates and training for cross-project coordination and execution. \nDevelop and maintain Monthly Resource Demand plans\nResponsible for development and implementation of talent and capability roadmaps for the organization.\nCommunications, including internal Staff Meetings and dissemination of information, both down and up.\n\nQualification/Knowledge/Skills Required:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.\n6+ years of experience as a technical lead.\nNew Product Development experience in aerospace/military industry.\nAbility to effectively communicate, plan, organize, supervise, and control work in one or more projects concurrently.\nExperience in executing a project from the beginning to the end.\nExcellent Presentation skills.\nExperience developing WBS, project plans, technical requirements.\nProficiency in utilizing Microsoft Project and Project\nProficiency in Earned Value Management and Control Account Management.\nStrong documentation and writing skills\nMust be a US Citizen\nAbility to work closely with a team of engineers and technicians and comfortable in laboratory environment.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a security clearance.\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements:\nPosition entails exposure to typical manufacturing (i.e. Machine Shop, Assembly, Testing, etc.) environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).\nBusiness office environment requiring use of telephone and personal computer.\nWork under pressure and overtime when required, in order to meet deadlines\nPay Range: $133,000 to $165,000 Annually\nThis position is at our Chaska, MN office location.\nMany of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
