As a Control Systems Engineering Co-Op, you’ll gain hands-on experience in systems engineering work products, such as systems engineering management plans, requirement management, system analysis and simulation models, and documents while working alongside industry experts. You’ll apply mechanical and aerospace engineering principles to real projects, receive mentorship, and present your work to senior leadership at the end of your rotation. Along the way, you’ll also network with other interns and employees through professional development and engagement events. Internships are available with a variety of teams across the Power and Actuation Business Unit, design, production, quality, or test/development engineering.\nPotential for Full-Time Employment: This internship/Co-op provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience, develop valuable skills, and potentially transition into a full-time position based on performance and organizational needs.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAnalyze and perform control system simulations and modeling in MATLAB.\nPerform and complete SDRLs and other documents regarding System modeling, Plans, and other related systems engineering deliverables.\nRequirements management utilizing IBM DOORS\nEnsure accuracy of engineering SDRLs by review and commenting.\nCommunicate technical and schedule problems, in a timely manner, to appropriate personnel when applicable.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nCurrently enrolled in a Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials Engineering program.\nStrong GPA and excellent grades in core engineering courses.\nExperience with Matlab Simulink modeling and simulation.\nDetail-oriented, precise, and organized with strong problem-solving skills.\nU.S. Citizenship required.\nAvailability to work full-time onsite beginning January 2027 thorough end of summer 2027.\nWork Environment:\nThis job interacts both in a professional office environment and a manufacturing/machine shop environment. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection (as required).\nPhysical Requirements:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear.\nThe Engineering Intern is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel\nThe Engineering Intern is frequently required to sit at length, stand, walk, and move about the facility.\nThe Engineering Intern may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds\nWhy Marotta?\nAt Marotta, you’ll contribute to programs that support space exploration, defense readiness, and advanced aerospace systems.
