Be part of a company where your work supports a mission that makes a difference-apply today!\nStaff Mechanical Engineer (Analysis)\n(Power & Actuation Systems)\nOverview:\nA Staff Engineer, Mechanical Analysis is responsible for evaluating the performance of structural and thermal systems under extreme loading and environmental conditions. The role will be integral throughout the development cycle to assess and inform product development and qualification. Initially using first principles (hand calculations, Excel & Python tools, etc.) to inform early design decisions, followed by high-fidelity modelling & simulation to as part of detailed design and verification phases. Highly qualified candidates will possess an understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering design principles and will be able to ascertain whether designs match their intent. They will also take initiative, with a desire to learn and develop knowledge and skills.\nThis role will require strong communication skills. Ideal applicants will be able to convey complex information to technical and nontechnical audiences. Occasional light travel may be involved.\nJob requirements:\nMaster’s degree in mechanical engineering (or a comparable field) preferred. Highly motivated, independent learners with a bachelor’s degree will also be considered.\n8+ years of experience (professional or otherwise) in the design, build, and/or test of mechanical kinematic systems or electronic enclosures.\n2+ years of experience in the structural and thermal analysis of mechanical kinematic systems and/or electronics packaging in FEA (ANSYS preferred).Nonlinear structural & thermal (contact, friction, plasticity, phase change)\nLinear dynamics (modal, random vibration, shock response)\nFatigue & thermal stress\n\nAbility to construct and evaluate kinematic models (ANSYS or Simscape preferred).\nFamiliarity with fluid systems, particularly conjugate heat transfer.\nFamiliar with behavior of metals and non-linear materials.\nFamiliar with the design, development, qualification, and production of military or aerospace products and standards.\nMust be a US Citizen\nWork Environment:\nOffice position with occasional exposure to a typical manufacturing environment\nThis position is at our Parsippany NJ office location.\nPay Range: $137,000- $150,000 per year\nMany of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries.
