These areas comprise banking journal entries, account reconciliations, SOX control execution, and customer invoicing/billing.\nYou’ll have a dual mandate: to firstly deliver the transition stage through building scalable and structured automated solutions that allow the processes to be absorbed and stabilized. Then, you’ll run a steady state where you will lead a small team and be accountable for the accurate, timely, and controlled execution of each process area within agreed service levels. You will operate a reliable, audit-ready control environment with a bias toward standardization and continuous improvement, with support from a team member.\nAs an integral part of the TransactPay Finance team, you’ll work very closely with colleagues in Gibraltar and Malta to maintain accurate financial records in our regulated businesses, in accordance with IFRS and other local accounting standards, and also with the Marqeta US Controller to ensure alignment with the group consolidation and close cycle, and adherence to the ICFR/SOX framework.\nThis role can be performed in a hybrid work model (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday onsite) from our Warsaw office. We’d love for you to join us!\nThe Impact You’ll Have\nBanking journal entries\nAccountable for the accurate posting of bank and cash activity relating to Financial Operations movements into the NetSuite general ledger, including the automation of postings and the transition from monthly to daily postings.\n\nMaintain the integrity of multi-currency bank ledger and support month-end FX translation and revaluation entries.\n\nAccount reconciliations\nOwn the balance sheet reconciliation process for the transitioned entities in respect of agreed categories of accounts including bank, prefund liabilities, settlement liabilities and other GL accounts (subject to expansion of scope).\n\nEnsure the reconciliations in scope are prepared and reviewed, then certified by the appropriate TransactPay individual on schedule (e.g. in the reconciliation tool) with reconciling items appropriately aged, substantiated, and cleared.\n\nEscalate aged or high-risk reconciling items and drive them to resolution with the relevant process and entity owners.\n\nMaintain reconciliation standards, thresholds, and review evidence to withstand internal and external audit.\n\nCustomer invoicing/billing\nManage the customer invoicing and billing for TransactPay, delivering accurate and timely billing runs, invoice issuance and supporting documentation.\n\nReconcile billed amounts to underlying data and agreements, and coordinate with commercial/operations teams on billing inputs, adjustments and credits.\n\nOwn resolution of billing queries and disputes, and support accounts-receivable follow-up and revenue-related close activities.\n\nEnsure billing outputs comply with local tax/VAT and invoicing requirements for the relevant European jurisdictions.\n\nSOX control execution\nExecute assigned ICFR/SOX controls over the transitioned processes, retaining complete and timely evidence for each control operation.\n\nEnsure controls are performed as designed and that any exceptions or breakdowns are logged, escalated and remediated.\n\nPartner with Internal Audit, external auditors, and the SOX/controls team on walkthroughs, testing and requests, and act as control owner/performer of record where assigned.\n\nSupport control design updates as processes are standardized post-transition, keeping narratives and control matrices current.\n\nTransition and stabilization (dual mandate)\nLead the knowledge transfer and migration of the above four core processes from TransactPay, including shadowing, reverse-shadowing and process documentation (SOPs/DTPs).\n\nEstablish and meet agreed SLAs and KPIs and provide transition and steady-state status reporting to entity stakeholders.\n\nIdentify standardization and automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement once processes stabilize\n\nTeam and stakeholder management\nManage, coach, and develop the finance team supporting the transitioned scope; allocate work and review deliverables.\n\nServe as the point of contact for the TransactPay Finance Team on the in-scope processes.\n\nSupport the monthly, quarterly and annual close and group reporting timetable, including inputs required for U.S. GAAP consolidation.\n\nWho You Are\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.\n\nProfessional qualification: ACCA, ACA, CIMA or EU equivalent (or in progress).\n\n5+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years managing or leading a team.\n\nAdvanced, hands-on knowledge of IFRS standards.\n\nControls and accuracy mindset, treats evidence, review, and segregation of duties.\n\nHands-on experience with complex reconciliations, high-volume journal entries, and month-end close.\n\nWorking knowledge of a SOX / internal-controls (ICFR) environment.\n\nStrong ERP experience (NetSuite) and reconciliation tooling (e.g. Floqast).\n\nStrong aptitude for technology solutions and AI tools, with experience in process transition and an appetite for continuous improvement through automation, simplification and standardization.\n\nAdvanced Excel; comfortable working with high transaction volumes and multiple currencies.\n\nClear, proactive communicator with inquisitive, solution driven mindset and excellent stakeholder management skills.\n\nNice-To-Haves\nExperience in payments, fintech, or other regulated financial services business with knowledge of flow of funds movements and interchange/billing.\n\nFamiliarity with both IFRS/local GAAP and U.S. GAAP, and with reporting into a U.S.-listed parent.\n\nKnowledge of European VAT/invoicing requirements.\n\nYour Manager\nAndrea Travis-Mattham\n\nRecruiter For This Role\nAga Wojciechowska\n\nTypical Process\nApplication Submission\n\nRecruiter phone call\n\nHiring manager video call\n\nVirtual “Onsite” consisting of 4-5, 45 min calls\n\nOffer!\n\nCompensation and Benefits\nWhen determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location.
