Maintain and conduct daily inspections of the mechanical plant. Monitor and control property temperatures. Monitor and analyze energy and utilities usage. Assemble, install, and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, etc relating to HVAC systems and Equipment.\nSCOPE / BUSINESS CONTEXT\nA Full Time position based at Al Maha Desert Resort and Spa, The Luxury Collection.\nNumber of Direct Reports - 0\nTitles of Direct Reports - shift supervisor / technical Forman / chief engineer\nCANDIDATE PROFILE\nExperience:\nMinimum 3 years hotel of related work experience.\nSkills and Knowledge\nAbility to Read and follow blueprints / schematics\nAbility to assemble, install, test and troubleshoot HVAC equipment \nGood understanding of HVAC Code (both local and ASHRAE)\nDemonstrated knowledge of HVAC Tools and Instrumentation\nKnowledge of Lock/Tag Out Protocol, OSHA and other HVAC safety procedures \nUnderstanding of maintenance inventory and requisition of parts and supplies as needed.\nAbility to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.\nEducation or Certification\nMinimum Technical, Trade or Vocational Certificate/Diploma or equivalent\nSPECIFIC DUTIES\nThe following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:\nInspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, equipment (e.g., air condition unis, exhaust fans, fridge, cold rooms, undercounts, ice machines) replacing air filters, and cleaning coils, deep cleaning of the ice cube machines.\nHandling of the shift duty assign by shift supervisor.\nRepairing electrical appliances of the property. \nEnsure all the electrical panel’s safety device are working properly and service to be done has per schedule. Performs all the duties of an HVAC technician.\nPerforms repairs for the heating, ventilation, air-conditioning and refrigeration systems in the resort facilities.\nRespond and attend to guest complaints & repair requests. \nCommunicate with guests or staff to resolve any HVAC maintenance issues.\nMakes periodic rounds to all area to support equipment and maintains operating log of conditions observed.\nResponsible for maintaining records of work done, time records and P/M records through the ( preventive maintenance recording transcendent system)\nUpdate the work order log book and inform the Engineering supervisor on duty the status of work done.\nReads blue prints, works from manufacturer’s operating manuals or applies knowledge of equipment to devise appropriate repairs.\nVisually inspect tools, equipment, or machines. \nKnowledgeable in methods to do advance troubleshooting of refrigerant system, control system and skilled in reclaiming refrigerant, insuring proper regulatory paperwork on same.\nKnowledgeable in sheet metal, AC duct fabrication and assembly. \nWorking Knowledge of various Building Automation Systems (BAS)\nCoordinates with service representative and others as necessary to accomplish installations or repairs.\nIdentify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.\nMay instruct personnel in proper use and operation of heating/ air-conditioning equipment, etc. \nMay participate in energy use studies, (energy savings program) comparison, etc. as requested by the Chief engineer.\nUse the Lockout / Tag-out system before performing any maintenance work. \nDisplay basic computer skills including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.\nTest, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment when required.\nWhen required perform basic repairs and troubleshooting like plumbing, electrical components, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and bulbs, and other guest room items. \nPlans, recommends, and carries out an approved program on scheduled maintenance.\nPerform preventive maintenance for all HVAC units and refrigerators Carry out as per scheduled and to be updated transcendent system daily basis.\nRecharges a variety of air conditioning and refrigeration systems by selecting the appropriate refrigerant, \nMaintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed. Follow up with duty supervisor; keep records of usage of the refrigerant. \nResponsible for implementation of energy conservation techniques on HVAC systems.\nEnter and locate work-related information using computers.\nCommunicate each day's activities and problems that occur to the other shifts using approved hotels communication programs and standards. \nPerform other reasonable job duties as requested.\nEnsure refrigeration usage monitor and record and update shift supervisor or technical foreman.\nMake sure attending dune function and picnic setup as request. \nMaintain engineering area is safe, kept clean and in an orderly manner. Keep close coordination with other engineering staff for smooth operation. \nParticipate in departmental meetings and training etc. \nAssist in energy conservation program, follow up with banquet staff to save electricity and air conditioning when meetings are over. \nComply with hotel and corporate LSOP’s and SOP’s. \nTo attend all safety and fire training and adhere to safety instructions at work to prevent any accidents. \nDocument all work performed and any spares used.\nServe as an active member of hotel emergency response team. \nCarry out any requests asked of you by your immediate supervisor.\nTake active role in the TQM process. \nTo ensure that you maintain a high level of hospitality and guest concern. Practice at all times “Empowerment” and do whatever it takes to satisfy the guest. \nAccident prevention and safety to be aware of all existing departmental job safety analysis and to strive to work in an accident free manner and to create a safe working environment for himself and for others. \nMaintain high standard of GSS and Brand standard for guest rooms and related areas. \nTo carry out other job assignments given by shift supervisor or designate, as business demands.
