The role assists in leading the Engineering Department to ensure all building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards, while delivering an exceptional guest experience and maintaining the integrity of the hotel's physical assets.\nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES\nI. Engineering & Facilities Operations\nAssist in managing the day-to-day operations of the Engineering Department and Facilities team.\nOversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all building systems, facilities, and equipment.\nMonitor the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration, kitchen, laundry, and fire life safety systems.\nConduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, plant rooms, and critical infrastructure.\nEnsure maintenance activities are completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established standards.\nSupport the planning and execution of engineering projects, renovations, refurbishments, and asset improvement initiatives.\nAssist in managing utility systems and implementing energy conservation and sustainability programs.\nEnsure engineering systems are optimized to maintain guest comfort, operational efficiency, and asset reliability.\nII. Maintenance Planning, Budget & Inventory\nAssist in developing and managing preventive maintenance schedules and departmental work plans.\nMonitor maintenance work orders and ensure timely completion of all requests.\nSupport the preparation and management of departmental operating and capital expenditure budgets.\nMonitor departmental expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.\nMaintain adequate inventory levels of engineering spare parts, tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.\nCoordinate purchasing activities and ensure compliance with company procurement procedures.\nMaintain accurate engineering records, maintenance reports, asset registers, and compliance documentation.\nIII. Leadership, Guest Service & Team Development\nProvide daily leadership, support, and direction to Engineering associates and technicians.\nAssist with staff scheduling, task allocation, and performance monitoring.\nSupport recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and development of Engineering team members.\nFoster a culture of teamwork, accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.\nBuild positive working relationships with guests, associates, contractors, and suppliers.\nEnsure maintenance activities are conducted with minimal disruption to hotel operations and guest satisfaction.\nAct as the point of contact for engineering-related issues in the absence of the Engineering Manager or Director of Engineering.\nIV.
