Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues.\nCANDIDATE PROFILE\nEducation and Experience\n\nEngineering Degree/Diploma in any any engineering field or equivalent required\nOR\nMust have minimum 5 Years experience with The Ritz-Carlton or another hotel company in the engineering department in a similar position\nCORE WORK ACTIVITIES\nMaintenance & Repairing\nAssist Asst. Director of Engineering in preparing administrative reports, budgets, etc. as required.\nAssist Asst. Director of Engineering in leading daily line-ups to ensure the Ritz-Carlton philosophy is known and energized by all staff members; participate in weekly/monthly departmental meetings.\nSupport TQM, lead problem solving team meetings, manage Good Idea Boards and strive to continuously improve.\nAttend necessary meetings and functions (in the absence of Asst. Director of Engineering) to support and provide input towards the success of the hotel.\nMaintain knowledge of hotel features/services, hours of operation, daily house count and expected arrivals/departures, etc. to ensure work orders are scheduled around critical times.\nReview daily log books prior to the shift starting and discuss any opportunities with the ADOE before delegating work assignments.\nConserve energy by maintaining the utility management program.\nInspect and maintain all building systems and life safety systems to ensure minimum down-time, expense and discomfort to our guests.\nInterview and select applicants as needed, utilizing the Quality Selection Process.\nEnsure employees maintain safe conditions and procedures in work areas and other associated areas; ensure each employee successfully completes the Training Certification Process and reviews all departmental safety information (i.e. JSAs and MSDSs).\nLeadership\nLead and direct the rest of the Engineering team.\nMonitor system, equipment and coordinate with internal and external Maintenance Request to rectify the situation immediately.\nPerform tasks of the Asst. Director of Engineering in his absence.\nMotivate staff members to achieve common goal.\nPromote positive work environment.\nBe firm and fair with the team.\nMaintain and review hotel SOPs.\nContinuous look for ways to improve engineering services.\nTraining and Development of Others\nPerform ad hoc on-the-job individual and team trainings as needed to ensure that all team members have the adequate knowledge and coordinate with Engineering Team to rectify any lack in knowledge immediately.\nDrive the Engineering Brand Standards and appropriate engagement and communication with guests and colleagues.\nProactively participate and assist the Engineering Management to plan and carry out Maintenance and Repairing of the system and Equipments.\nCommunication\nEnsure that all pertinent information is provided to Concern departments, guests and colleagues.\nEnsure that all communication with departments, guests and colleagues is complete, accurate, engaging and positive.\nMaintain confidentiality of all guest information.\nAttend daily line-ups and communicate all challenges and successes with the rest of the team.\nPromptly, accurately and consistently report all maintenance program and how they were carried out.\nAttend designated meetings.\nAct as the point of contact for other departments for all Engineering related issues.\nEnsure and emphasize prompt solutions and reporting of any maintenance/repairing during the shift. Ensure that the challenge is escalated to ADOE/DOE/General Manager if need be and ensure that all such incidents are discussed in the next line-up and in departmental meeting.\nOther\nPlan and schedule work for the team ensuring proper distribution of assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities for subsequent performance of duties. \nSuccessfully develops and implements short term and small-scale projects. Accurately estimates and request resources required to successfully achieving goals.\nPromote open-door policy among staff members; Identify and resolve performance problems not in line with company standards; consistently apply hotel standards/procedures in evaluation and discipline of staff; administer fair employee performance appraisals in a timely manner.\nAchieve objectives through direction and delegation.\nSet standards for the department in image, appearance and grooming; properly represent the company and the profession to outside organizations; return business telephone calls the same day.\nManage the purchasing, inventory and price value relationship of all parts and tools.\nCoordinate carpentry projects and control all painting and decorating projects.\nOversee maintenance of plumbing systems, grounds and landscaping, swimming pool water features, the central plant, HVAC systems, kitchen facilities, refrigeration systems, laundry facilities, electrical systems, sewage systems.\nMaintain the guest rooms and public area utilizing the preventive maintenance program.\nLearn, understand and energize The Ritz-Carlton Gold Standards among engineering staff.\nPractice emergency procedures in compliance with hotel/company standards; react and assist in hotel emergency situations as needed.\nConduct periodic inspections of the hotel buildings and facilities to determine repair needs; establish and coordinate programs of preventive maintenance.\nEnsure all the CARE Program is carried.\nDetermine priorities for the enhancement, repair and modification of building facilities and equipment; develop five-year plan for enhancement and maintenance of facilities and communicate needs to the Asst. Director of Engineering.\nEnsure that all work performs to the Ritz-Carlton standards.\nEffectively communicates with staff in verbal or written form, listens and observes to ensure compression and keeps staff well informed.\nConsistently sets high standards of quality. Team members demonstrate commitment to provide quality service, establishes and monitors procedures designed to measure quality, and recommends improvements based on experience and feedback obtained.\nPrepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations and/or conclusions. \nRecommend various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules. \nInspect completed work to ensure compliance with blueprints, specifications, instructions and applicable federal, state and local codes; direct any rework or modification. \nConsistently sets high standards of quality. Team members demonstrate commitment to provide quality service, establishes and monitors procedures designed to measure quality, and recommends improvements based on experience and feedback obtained.\nReport any unusual finding or safety hazards immediately to the Asst. Director of Engineering.\nUnderstand and practice hotel emergency fire procedures.\nAssist the Asst.
