Responsible for maintaining standards and regulatory requirements.\nCANDIDATE PROFILE\nEducation and Experience\nMinimum 3 years experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area\nMinimum of 1 year managing a team\nExperience working in a hotel, or similar is preferred\nUndergraduate or masters degree from an accredited university in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanics, or related major\nFull working rights for Australia, we cannot sponsor this role\nCORE WORK ACTIVITIES\nManaging Engineering Operations\nAssists in developing project plans in accordance with renovation or new construction needs.\nImplements preventative maintenance and asset protection plan.\nAssists with managing the physical plant including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment and electrical systems in accordance with brand Standard Operating Procedures.\nMaintaining Property Standards\nManages and controls heat, light and power.\nMaintains property life safety systems (e.g., fire fighting equipment, sprinkler systems, alarm systems).\nEnsures fire crew has complete understanding of all procedures, equipment and alarms.\nCommunicates and ensures departmental and hotel emergency procedures are executed when necessary.\nManaging Engineering Team\nConducts regular, on-going communication in all areas of Engineering.\nCommunicates critical information to Engineering teams.\nCommunicates a clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals to produce desired results.\nManaging Profitability and Above Property Stakeholder Relations\nAssists in supervising construction to ensure timely completion of projects within budgetary guidelines.\nCollaborates with owner’s asset manager on decisions concerning capital improvements to the facility.\nBuilds positive relationships with external customers (e.g., city building/zoning department, fire prevention bureau, vendors).\nEnsuring Exceptional Customer Service\nFocuses on improving service performance.\nSets expectations and holds Engineering teams accountable for demonstrating desired service behaviors.\nEmpowers employees to provide excellent guest service.\nConducting Human Resources Activities\nUtilizes employee feedback and an “open door” policy to identify and address employee problems or concerns in a timely manner.\nAssists in hiring engineering team members who demonstrate strong functional expertise, creativity and entrepreneurial leadership to meet the business needs of the operation.\nEnsures that regular on-going communication takes place throughout engineering operations to communicate daily operations activities, set expectations and create awareness of business objectives.\nIdentifies opportunities to increase profits and create value by challenging existing processes, encouraging innovation and driving necessary change.\nEnsures employees are treated fairly and equitably.\nAt Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
