This role is part of the team focused on deploying new and emerging capabilities to our next generation cloud-based HR, Payroll, analytics, and machine learning platforms. Appropriate candidates have a passion for emerging technologies with a vision for building sustainable and scalable products and a strong drive for success.\nIn this role you will function as a technical expert on ETL capabilities for HR and Payroll Products. You will perform research, analysis, design, and development using Apache Spark ETL. You will set technical standards and develop reusable frameworks to ensure secure, consistent, and efficient creation of ETL capabilities and products.\nYou will assume technical ownership of Service Provider deliverables and lead their technical resources to ensure deliverables are of high quality, follow our technical standards & best practices and perform at scale.\nIn addition, you will research emerging technologies that will provide future capabilities as well as seek solutions for complex technical issues. You will make decisions on complex, non-routine requests to support analytics based decisioning by Marriott business teams.\nCANDIDATE PROFILE\nEducation and Experience\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience/certification\n7+ years of experience using Apache Spark with Python i.e., PySpark\n7+ years’ experience in information technology application development and support in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI etc.)\nIn-depth knowledge of SQL and database systems\nExperience in building ETL solutions\nStrong understanding of distributed computing and parallel processing\nExperience with data processing frameworks like Hadoop and Spark\nHands on experience with Python or Scala\nFamiliarity with SFTP\nAbility to listen and understand business requirements, ask questions, and translate the requirements into design documents\nAbility to elicit, organize and document detailed and comprehensive technical, and non-functional requirements\nExperience in developing test plans, test scripts, and managing unit, system, regression, and user acceptance testing\nAbility to troubleshoot technical issues across platforms and follow through to a resolution\nAbility to work independently, identifying and driving required tasks to completion in a timely manner\nProven ability to support all aspects of large, complex applications with multiple stakeholders\nProven ability to prioritize and manage multiple support requests while working on time sensitive projects and upgrades\nExperience in waterfall and/or agile software methodologies\nPreferred\nExperience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Flow and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure AI Data Platform\nKnowledge of related Oracle applications like Oracle Data Integrator and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure PaaS.\nExperience with BI reports\nOracle Global Human Resources Cloud Implementation certification\nAdditional preference for Oracle certifications in any of the following cloud products: OCI, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, Absence Management, Talent Management, Learning or Recruiting Cloud.\nStrong understanding of Oracle HCM Cloud Global HR product capabilities, Business Objects, Business Object Relationships, seeded processes and system dependencies.\nTechnology leadership experience in an outsourced or internally managed environment\n6-10 years’ domain experience relevant to supported business function; Industry and competitive landscape knowledge.\nCORE WORK ACTIVITIES\nTechnical Leadership\nIdentifies opportunities to enhance the service delivery processes.\nTrains and/or mentors other team members, and peers as appropriate \nDelivering Technology\nSupports existing applications and large projects.\nFacilitates achievement of expected deliverables and obligations of Services Providers\nValidates completeness of requirements prior to Service Provider or internally managed team solutioning\nThrough the service provider or internally managed teams, plans and coordinates complex implementation overseeing quality control of application functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.\nAdvises support desk on change management as it relates to support and training of new system.\nEnsures all projects follow the defined development and business case processes.\nEnsures proper coordination with appropriate IT and vendor relations teams.\nProvides consultation for routine and complex systems development.\nEnsures early warning to the business stakeholder executives regarding degraded or missed service levels.\nIT Governance\nFollows all defined IR standards and processes (i.e. IT Governance, SM&G, Architecture, etc.), and provides input for improvements to the appropriate process owners as needed\nMaintains a proper balance between business and operational risk. \nFollows the defined project management standards and processes.\nService Provider, COTS and Custom Application Management\nLeads prioritization meetings with stakeholders and drive resolution of changes through the process for portfolio of supported applications\nCoordinates and tracks the delivery of highly visible operational activities/problems.\nGrooms backlog of features and changes with stakeholders.\nValidates that Service Providers and internal teams develop and manage respective aspects of a project plan, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.\nMakes short term plans for the team to effectively utilize resources.\nMonitors Service Provider and internal team’s outcomes.\nReviews estimates of work effort for client project provided by Service Providers and internal teams for accuracy.\nFacilitates timely resolution of service delivery problems and minimizes the impact to clients.\nFunctions as an applications expert for both senior leadership and project teams in effective utilization of existing technology in business technical applications, either enterprise-wise or business-wide.\nLeads workgroup/project team or functions as a technical specialist.\nDevelops and manages respective aspects of a project plan with minimal assistance, including schedules, deliverables, and appropriate metrics.\nPlans and coordinates complex ETL and implementation overseeing quality control of systems functional design, usability, functionality, and implementation.\nCoordinates with quality assurance, infrastructure services, vendor and internal application delivery teams.\nProvides consultation for routine and complex systems development.\nProvides accurate estimates of work effort for client project.\nFunctions as a technical resource for other team members.\nUnderstanding and ability to facilitate and execute technical infrastructure, technical specialization, and technical integration activities.\nStrong understanding of business processes, customers, and functions.\nAt Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
