This role will be responsible for all aspects of planning and executing projects from ideation to project closure. The scope could include leading and/or supporting large capital projects from product distribution, packaging, palletizing and warehousing, depending on business needs. The role owns the overall leadership of packaging projects via the Mars Snacking Engineering Execution Standard.\nThis role will be based out of one of the following sites Battle Creek, MI; Cary, NC; Chicago, IL; Jackson, TN; Kansas City, KC.\nWhat are we looking for?\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBS degree in Engineering \n4+ years’ experience in a comparable technical position - food, beverage, pharmaceutical or related industry\nProven track record in successfully executing capital projects of greater than $1M value\nDemonstrated ability to safely manage consultant engineering firms as well as mechanical and electrical installation contractors in a factory environment\nProven deep understanding of packaging engineering principles \nPrior knowledge and experience in food safety\nStrong communication, listening, and influencing skills \n 30 - 50% travel requirement (depending on site location) IS A MUST, with the opportunity of international travel\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMBA\nKnowledge with clean design \nWhat would be your key responsibilities?\nProvide innovative Packaging Engineering solutions that drive a competitive advantage \nAccurately scope and estimate capital projects that are technically feasible and meet business and segment plans \nCommunicate and collaborate with all Stakeholders and other functions (R&D, Quality, Commercial, Finance) to ensure capital project objectives are clearly defined and achieved \nEnsure delivery of scope, timeline, budget, and cash flow for all assigned engineering projects in accordance with the Engineering Work Process (EWP) \nOnsite management of contractors and OEMs during installation Including creating and ensuring a safe work environment for contractors and associates \nLeadership through commissioning, validation, and startup of equipment \nWhat can you expect from Mars?\nWork with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles\nJoin a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today\nA strong focus on learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University\nAn industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus\nThe base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
