VCA Briarcliff Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Boarding Supervisor to join our leadership team!\nThe successful candidate will share our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our loyal clientele and the highest quality care to their boarded and hospitalized pets, while guiding and mentoring our animal care team.\nWhat You'll Do (Job Responsibilities)\nAs our Boarding Supervisor, you will lead our boarding department by combining direct animal care with team leadership and administrative oversight. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nTeam Leadership & Training: Oversee the daily operations of the boarding department. Train, mentor, coach, and schedule the boarding staff and Animal Care Attendants to ensure consistent, high-quality care.\n\nOperations & Safety: Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized boarding environment. Monitor inventory of pet care, cleaning, and feeding supplies, and coordinate ordering as needed.\n\nClient & Department Communication: Communicate professionally with clients regarding boarding reservations, special needs, medication instructions, and general updates.\n\nCollaborative Care: Act as a key liaison between the boarding team and our veterinary doctors/technicians to seamlessly coordinate care for medical boarders and hospitalized pets.\n\nHands-on Care Support: Assist the team as needed with daily husbandry duties, including:\nCleaning and disinfecting cages, runs, and common hospital areas.\n\nFeeding, watering, and monitoring the health and behavior of dogs and cats.\n\nWalking and exercising dogs.\n\nBathing pets and doing laundry.\n\nAssisting Doctors and Technicians with safe patient handling when necessary.\n\nWhat We're Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)\nPrior experience in animal care (boarding, kennel, dog daycare, or veterinary hospital) is required.\n\nLeadership, supervisory, or team lead experience is strongly preferred.\n\nExcellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.\n\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.\n\nAbility to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the needs of the business.\n\nAbility to stand, walk, and be on your feet for extended periods, and safely lift up to 40 pounds.\n\nWhy Join the VCA Family?\nWe offer competitive compensation and great benefits for eligible employees!\nBenefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance.\n\nTime Off: Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.\n\nSavings: 401(k) retirement plan.\n\nPerks: Generous personal employee pet care discounts, access to continuing education, and opportunities for professional growth and leadership development!\n\nHow to Apply\nCurrent Associates: If you are a current VCA associate, please apply internally.
