Guy Carpenter is actively seeking qualified candidates for this role in Manila, through a new Guy Carpenter business division to be established within Marsh Philippines.\nOperational Excellence & AI Data Engineer\nRole Summary:\nLead/support the development and execution of analytics, automation, and AI-enabled solutions that improve operational efficiency and support business priorities across Asia Pacific.\n\nServe as a senior individual contributor within a newly formed capability, operating with a high degree of autonomy to shape solution design, establish standards, and deliver scalable tools from concept through implementation.\n\nPartner closely with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate ambiguous challenges into actionable, data-driven outcomes.\n\nWe will count on you to:\nDevelop and execute strategies for implementing analytics-driven tools, automations, and data solutions that improve operational effectiveness and align with broader business goals.\n\nApply advanced expertise in data engineering, analytics, and solution design to build scalable models, dashboards, workflows, and applications that address complex business challenges.\n\nLead/support end-to-end delivery of analytical and operational improvement solutions, from data sourcing and transformation through modeling, visualization, deployment, and adoption.\n\nAdvise stakeholders on complex or unclear business issues and translates analytical findings into practical recommendations and actionable insights.\n\nIdentify and prioritize opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve process quality, and enhance decision-making through data, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities.\n\nGuide the design and implementation of automation tools, including scripted pipelines, Excel add-ins, desktop applications, and user-facing solutions that improve productivity and control.\n\nApply AI, machine learning, and generative AI capabilities where appropriate to create measurable value for internal and external stakeholders.\n\nEstablish development standards, documentation practices, and scalable ways of working for a growing operational excellence and data solutions capability.\n\nManage mid- to large-scale projects and workstreams, directing priorities, coordinating delivery, and ensuring solutions are sustainable, maintainable, and aligned to stakeholder needs.\n\nCoach and support junior team members by sharing technical guidance, raising delivery standards, and promoting strong analytical and engineering practices.\n\nWhat you need to have?\nBachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or a related quantitative discipline; advanced degree preferred.\n\nSignificant relevant experience in data engineering, analytics, business intelligence, automation, or a related technical role.\n\nAdvanced proficiency in SQL and deep understanding of data modeling, data transformation, and scalable analytical architecture.\n\nStrong experience using Python for analytics, automation, and production-oriented solution development.\n\nPrior experience developing dashboards and business-facing analytical solutions using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.\n\nExperience with C#/.NET application development, including desktop applications, Excel add-ins, or similar user-facing tools.\n\nDemonstrated experience applying AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions in practical business settings.\n\nExperience working in insurance, reinsurance, financial services, or other complex, data-rich environments is strongly preferred.\n\nAbility to operate in ambiguous environments and building new capabilities, products, or processes from the ground up is preferred.\n\nStrong strategic thinking and the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.\n\nSound judgment and the ability to operate independently in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments.\n\nAbility to influence stakeholders effectively and build trusted relationships across teams and leadership levels.\n\nAbility to communicate complex technical concepts and analytical insights in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.\n\nHigh standards for quality, scalability, controls, and sustainability in solution design and delivery.\n\nAbility to coach others effectively and contribute to the development of team capability, standards, and ways of working.\n\nWhy join our team:\nWe help you be your best through professional development opportunities, interesting work and supportive leaders.\n\nWe foster a vibrant and inclusive culture where you can work with talented colleagues to create new solutions and have impact for colleagues, clients and communities.\n\nOur scale enables us to provide a range of career opportunities, as well as benefits and rewards to enhance your well-being.\n\nAt Guy Carpenter, a Marsh business, you can be your best.
