We invest in our employees through training, development opportunities, collaboration, and a workplace culture built on respect and accountability.\nWhat You'll Do\nIn this role, you will:\nPerform maintenance and repairs to existing buildings and facility infrastructure.\nAssist with new building construction and renovation projects.\nComplete a variety of general and finish carpentry projects.\nPerform masonry installation, repair, and maintenance as needed.\nInstall and maintain automated feed and facility support systems.\nInspect buildings and equipment, identify maintenance needs, and recommend preventative improvements.\nWork closely with the Construction Supervisor to plan projects, prioritize work, and efficiently use materials and resources.\nEnsure all work meets quality standards and applicable building and safety requirements.\nOperate, maintain, and care for tools, equipment, and vehicles safely and responsibly.\nMaintain accurate maintenance documentation and work records.\nIdentify opportunities to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and facility performance.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nWhat You Bring\nRequired Experience\nTwo or more years of education, training, or hands-on experience demonstrating proficiency in general carpentry or construction trades.\nValid New York State Driver's License.\nBasic computer skills for email, work order systems, and standard office software.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience performing building maintenance, facility repairs, and construction projects.\nExperience operating construction equipment, vehicles, and powered tools safely.\nWhat Makes You Successful\nWe're looking for someone who:\nTakes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship.\nWorks safely and demonstrates sound judgment in every task.\nCan work independently while collaborating effectively with teammates.\nHas strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.\nPays close attention to detail and manages priorities effectively.\nIs adaptable and willing to learn new skills and construction techniques.\nCommunicates professionally with coworkers and leadership.\nDemonstrates accountability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.\nIs committed to continuous improvement and helping create a positive work environment.\nWork Environment\nThis position may require:\nWorking indoors and outdoors in a variety of facility and construction settings.\nWorking in changing weather conditions and varying temperatures.\nPerforming physically active work including lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working at heights or in confined spaces.\nOperating construction equipment, vehicles, and powered tools safely.\nWearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection and respiratory protection when necessary (requires employee to be clean shaven).\nParticipating in required safety training and following all workplace safety procedures.\nSupporting emergency facility needs and seasonal operations as part of a collaborative team.\nSchedule & Compensation\nSchedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.\nWeekend/On-Call Requirements: Participation in a rotating weekend and on-call schedule is required, including emergency response and seasonal snow removal as needed.\nPay Grade: F4\nPay Range: $20.69 - $31.05 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.\nAbout Marshall Farms Group, Ltd.\nWe support leading research organizations around the world through the animals and services we provide, and we are also a leading provider of pet ferrets.
