We invest in our employees through training, development opportunities, collaboration, and a workplace culture built on respect and accountability.\nWhat You'll Do\nIn this role, you will:\nParticipate in all veterinary technical responsibilities for beagles, ferrets, minipigs, and cats.\nEnsure all veterinary matters are promptly communicated to veterinary staff.\nConduct pre-shipment quality examinations of beagles and cats following established protocols and customer requirements.\nCollect blood samples, perform laboratory testing, and complete related diagnostic procedures.\nParticipate in cardiac auscultation and general health examinations of potential beagle breeders.\nAdminister vaccines across all species.\nConduct skin health assessments for beagles at required ages.\nAssist veterinary and production staff with elective and non-elective surgical and anesthetic procedures.\nReview animal health status for hold and reserve orders to determine eligibility for sale.\nConduct FELASA testing for beagles, cats, and minipigs, including sample collection, submission, and result coordination.\nAssist with ECGs, radiography, laboratory procedures, and other technical veterinary tasks.\nAdminister treatments as prescribed.\nSupport production operations as necessary and directed.\nMaintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with required procedures.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nRequirements\nWhat You Bring\nRequired Education\nNew York State Veterinary Technician License required.\nRequired Experience\nDemonstrated proficiency in veterinary technician practices and animal health procedures.\nExperience administering medications, vaccines, and treatments.\nKnowledge of animal care, health assessment, sample collection, and laboratory testing.\nAbility to maintain detailed and accurate records and documentation.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience assisting with surgical and anesthetic procedures.\nExperience performing ECGs, radiography, and laboratory diagnostics.\nExperience working with multiple species in a veterinary, research, agricultural, or animal production environment.\nWhat Makes You Successful\nWe're looking for someone who:\nInteracts effectively with cross-functional teams.\nDemonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.\nCommunicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.\nPossesses advanced knowledge of animal care, including intensive care, medication administration, and dosage calculations.\nUnderstands animal behavior across all phases of animal care.\nTakes ownership of responsibilities and follows through on commitments.\nDemonstrates initiative, accountability, and sound judgment.\nMaintains confidentiality and professionalism.\nLeads by example through ethical behavior, diligence, and enthusiasm.\nSupports a culture of teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement.\nMotivates and builds trust among peers, supervisors, and organizational leadership.\nWork Environment\nThis position may require:\nFrequent contact with beagles, ferrets, minipigs, and cats.\nWorking in varying temperatures and animal care environments.\nWorking in areas where hearing protection and other personal protective equipment (PPE) are required.\nMeeting barrier facility requirements, including annual influenza vaccination requirements and restrictions regarding contact with certain animals outside of work.\nShared extended hours and weekend coverage as required.\nPhysically demanding work, including lifting and handling animals.\nWorking in a fast-paced environment requiring strong attention to detail, problem-solving, and effective communication.\nSchedule & Compensation\nSchedule: Primarily first shift.\nWeekend/On-Call Requirements: Shared weekend and extended-hour coverage as required.\nPay Grade: N7\nPay Range: $27.54 - $41.33 per hour.\nAbout Marshall Farms Group, Ltd.\nWe support leading research organizations around the world through the animals and services we provide, and we are also a leading provider of pet ferrets.
