  • Work with the wider Procurement team to effectively manage new product introduction and deletion within the supply chain and the proactive handling of residual stock.
  • Continual review of the supplier base to ensure continuity of development, supply, due diligence, and effective crisis management.
  • Effective identification of risk and the planning and execution of contingency strategies.
  • Management of the relationships with our third-party distributors.
  • Ensure the ethical, environmental and sustainability credentials of our suppliers and product range.
  • Monitor and act upon market trends and influences which may affect the portfolio of products.
  • Build effective working relationships and establish an effective network of links internally and externally.
  • Supplier performance monitoring and ongoing supplier review / evaluation.
  • Ensure that effective and robust contracts are in place and ensure that a critical path is manged for all areas of responsibility.
  • Liaise effectively with all internal stakeholders to ensure that business requirements are addressed.
  • Ensure all savings and charters are accurately documented, monitored, and achieved.

What we're looking for:

  • A strategic thinker demonstrating a thorough understanding of supplier relationship and value adding strategies.
  • Results driven and self-motivated; able to demonstrate a proven track record in relevant procurement areas; especially food categories.
  • Able to seek and create new opportunities and benefits.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to sell ideas and initiatives with clarity.
  • Able to effectively manage internal customer relationships.
  • Comfortable with handling complex contracts.
  • Equipped with excellent negotiation skills via both formal training within CIPS/Industry bodies and having experience in relevant fields.
  • Knowledgeable of processes and procedures involved in procurement, such as cost analysis, tender processes, contractual issues.
  • Experience managing direct reports.
  • Able to demonstrate market/commercial awareness with the ability to identify and act upon influences affecting cost, quality, and availability.
