This role drives execution across highly complex, cross-functional programs addressing some of the most demanding challenges in AI, wired and wireless communications, and critical infrastructure markets.This role is responsible for developing and executing system and rack-level validation plans across electrical, thermal, functional, and performance domains, ensuring board, switch, and optics components perform reliably as integrated platform solutions. You will partner closely with hardware design, signal/power integrity, firmware, and systems engineering teams to translate platform requirements into robust validation methodologies and test coverage.\nYou will operate in a highly visible technical environment, providing validation expertise, bring-up support, and lab-based characterization while engaging with cross-functional engineering teams and customers to ensure platform designs meet performance, quality, and schedule objectives.\nWhat You Can Expect\nLead system and rack-level validation planning for platform solutions spanning board, switch, and optics\nDefine validation requirements and test methodologies, translating platform architecture and customer needs into comprehensive test coverage\nDrive execution of electrical, thermal, functional, and performance validation across switch systems, boards, and rack-scale infrastructure\nOwn validation tradeoff decisions across hardware, software, mechanical, thermal, and operational domains\nCollaborate with hardware design, signal/power integrity, firmware, and systems engineering teams to ensure validation coverage aligns with system-level design intent\nDevelop and execute comprehensive board, system, and rack-level validation plans and test procedures\nPartner with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and suppliers to ensure validation processes meet manufacturability and production readiness requirements\nSupport hyperscale, cloud, and enterprise customer engagements with validation data, design reviews, and technical escalations\nDevelop and maintain validation documentation, including test plans, characterization reports, and pass/fail criteria\nProactively identify validation and integration risks across the platform stack, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues as needed to drive resolution\nDefine validation scope, requirements, and risk assessments up front to guide testing and reduce security, data integrity, and operational risks\nQualify systems through installation, operational, and performance testing (IQ/OQ/PQ) to confirm they are installed correctly, function as specified, and perform reliably under real-world conditions\nMaintain requirements traceability, audit trails, and change/deviation records throughout the system lifecycle, and produce final validation reports\nWhat We're Looking For\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 10-15 years of related professional experience; Master's degree and/or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 5-10 years of experience\nExperience with microprocessor, interconnect, memory, networking, and storage architectures relevant to platform-level system validation\nStrong understanding of system and rack-level architecture, including scale-up and scale-out fabric design, interconnect, and data center power/thermal constraints\nExperience validating switch, board, and optics components integrated into rack-scale solutions and reference platforms\nFamiliarity with high-speed interfaces including Ethernet, PCIe, and other advanced interconnect technologies\nAbility to define system validation requirements and translate platform architecture into test plans and design tradeoffs\nExperience with programming/scripting languages such as Python or C for test automation, data analysis, and validation tooling\nHands-on experience with system-level validation methodologies, including electrical, thermal, functional, and performance characterization\nExperience collaborating with ODMs, contract manufacturers, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure design manufacturability and integration readiness\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work successfully across cross-functional teams\nExpected Base Pay Range (USD)\n150,680 - 225,700, $ per annumThe successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location and market conditions.The expected base pay range for this role may be modified based on market conditions.\n\nThis role is eligible to participate in Marvell's bonus and equity plans, including a new hire equity grant and annual equity refreshers, ensuring you are rewarded for your contributions and remain invested in the company's long-term success.\nAdditional Compensation and Benefit Elements\nMarvell is committed to providing exceptional, comprehensive benefits that support our employees at every stage - from internship to retirement and through life’s most important moments.
