The Plant Controller is responsible for planning and coordinating the plant budget in alignment with corporate goals.\nHighlights of your role\nServe as the primary financial business partner to plant leadership, translating financial and operational data into actionable recommendations that improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance.\nPrepare and communicate monthly financial results, forecasts, risks, opportunities, and key performance indicators to plant and value-stream leadership.\nLead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes, including labor, material, overhead, capital, inventory, and productivity assumptions.\nMaintain the plant’s standard-cost system and analysis of purchase price, material usage, labor, and overhead variances.\nPartner with operations to identify the root causes of financial and operational performance gaps and develop measurable corrective actions.\nEstablish and maintain reporting for plant performance measures, including cost per unit, labor productivity, scrap, rework, inventory, absorption, spending, and conversion costs.\nProvide financial analysis for continuous-improvement initiatives, capacity decisions, make-versus-buy evaluations, staffing changes, capital investments, and other plant-level business decisions.\nLead inventory accounting and controls, including cycle-count oversight, physical inventory, excess and obsolete inventory analysis, reserves, and inventory valuation.\nMaintain an effective internal-control environment and ensure compliance with company accounting policies, GAAP, audit requirements, and established approval authorities.\nCoordinate plant capital planning, prepare financial justification for capital requests, and monitor project spending and realized benefits against approved business cases.\nCollaborate with corporate finance, shared services, supply chain, engineering, and other business partners to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate plant financial reporting and accounting processes.\nDevelop financial understanding and accountability among plant leaders by helping them interpret operating results and understand the financial impact of their decisions.\nParticipate in month/year end close process\nPerform other responsibilities consistent with the scope and level of the position.\nYou're a good fit if you have (or if you can)\nStrong critical thinking skills\nThorough attention to detail and accuracy\nAbility to effectively communicate with management and peers\nKnowledge/Experience with Business Intelligence tools\nAlso want to make sure you have\nBachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field\n5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment\nCost Accounting experience\nExperience with comprehensive ERP systems\nWe invite you to See Yourself at Marvin\nFrom people to products, Marvin is committed to creating better ways of living.
