We believe we can succeed in that mission by being the BEST provider for our clients, the BEST partner for manufacturers, and the BEST company for our employees.\nBAS Controls Systems Service Technician\nThe Opportunity\nMidwest Applied Solutions is looking for a BAS Controls Systems Service Technician to help customers keep their building automation systems running well. You’ll work with a team to startup, commission, troubleshoot, repair and improve systems at existing customer sites, retrofit projects and new construction sites.\nExperience building automation systems is helpful, but you do not need to know every system or have every certification to apply. We are willing to teach and train someone who is dependable, curious, committed to quality work, and motivated to master the trade. As your skills grow, you’ll take on more complex work and greater independence.\nWhat You’ll Do\nBuild positive relationships with customers and communicate clearly about your work.\nHelp diagnose system issues and make repairs, adjustments, or component replacements.\nPerform preventive maintenance and check that systems operate as intended.\nAssist with system checkout, startup, commissioning, and upgrades.\nLearn to create and modify BAS graphics and programming, including Niagara.\nIdentify opportunities to improve building operations and energy efficiency.\nWork with teammates, share what you learn, and ask questions when you need support.\nDocument work and follow through on customer needs.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nA strong commitment to learning, solving problems, and doing quality work.\nReliability, professionalism, and care for customers and teammates.\nClear verbal and written communication skills.\nComfort using computers and learning new software and systems.\nAbility to use hand and power tools and work safely in the field.\nA valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.\nFlexibility to work overtime, weekends, or an on-call schedule as needed. Occasional out-of-town travel may be required.\nExperience That Would Be Helpful\nThe following experience is preferred, but we encourage you to apply even if you do not have all of it:\nHVAC, electrical, mechanical, controls, or building automation experience.\nFamiliarity with Niagara N4, Honeywell WEBs, or other control systems.\nKnowledge of BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, or IP networks.\nAbility to read plans, submittal drawings, or wiring diagrams.\nTrade school training, military technical training, or relevant certifications.\nWork Environment and Physical Requirements\nThis role involves working at multiple customer sites, sometimes on the same day. The work may require standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 75 pounds.\nThis job description is not intended to include every duty.
