Merchandiser - Sourcing

We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to facilitate the sourcing of Raw Material for allocated customer orders and ensure that the correct quantity of raw materials are in-house in a timely manner in order to facilitate the production process thereby, ensuring 100% completion of orders
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Negotiate delivery terms with the suppliers to ensure raw materials are only in-house when required to control raw material in-house dates
Arrange inspection of fabric at the supplier’s premises to ensure all quality aspects are met
Follow-up with suppliers until the materials are in-house whilst, liaising with the planning section to prioritize delivery dates where required
Coordinate with the Commercial team in order to ensure all raw material required for the production process is forwarded to the relevant factories accurately and on time
Liaise with relevant factory personnel/ suppliers on material received, and re-order material as and when required whilst, monitoring material consumption up to the order completion stage in order to ensure required quantity & quality of raw materials are available
Ensure that relevant raw material is sourced for the production process by performing activities such as the following in a timely manner in order to facilitate accurate completion of customer orders
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Diploma / Degree in relevant field or CIM as an equivalent professional qualification
- 1-2 years’ experience in Merchandising or a similar role
- Knowledge on MS Office Packages
- Knowledge of Supply Chain
