We believe that high-performing teams drive groundbreaking medical discoveries and invite all applicants to join us and experience what it means to be part of Mass General Brigham.\n Job Summary\nEssential FunctionsAssist pharmacists in filling inpatient orders, documenting activities, monitoring stock for outdated medications, and disposing of medications.\nCompound medications according to USP regulations.\nPerform sterile compounding in compliance with USP regulations.\nPerform sterile compounding of hazardous medications according to USP regulations.\nAssist with sterile compounding competencies.\nComplete all Simplifi activities and inspections.\nPrepare, deliver, and collect all pharmacy items throughout the facility.\nRestock IV room supplies.\nRestock automated dispensing cabinets.\nPerform floor checks, stock checks, and assigned unit reviews.\nPrepackage medications.\nAnswer the telephone and assist callers with inquiries that do not require the professional judgment of a Pharmacist.\nAssist customers at the service window.\nComplete mandatory education and training to maintain competencies, requirements, certification, and/or licensure.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree or completion of college coursework.\nCompound Sterile Preparation (CPhT-CSP) certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).\nPrevious experience as a Pharmacy Technician.\nExperience in a hospital inpatient pharmacy.\nExperience in a USP -compliant sterile products compounding room.\nExperience with Epic electronic health record or similar programs.\nUnderstanding of medical terminology and calculations.\n Qualifications\nEducation\nHigh School Diploma or Equivalent required\nCan this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?\nNo\nLicenses and Credentials\nPharmacy Technician [State License] required\nPharmacy Technician Certification [CPhT] - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) required\nExperience\nPrevious hospital-related experience, formal training, or certification from a pharmacy technician training program desired 1-2 years\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\n- Perform intermediate mathematical calculations associated with preparing non-sterile, extemporaneously manufactured pharmaceutical products and other medication doses.\n- Follow all applicable state and federal controlled substance regulations.\n- Continuously improve skills necessary of area-specific technology, including, but not limited to, robotics, automation, software, equipment, and information system.\n- Read, interpret, and follow complex verbal and written instructions to prepare medications in a sterile environment in an accurate manner.\nAdditional Job Details (if applicable)\nRemote Type\nOnsiteWork Location\n81 Highland AvenueScheduled Weekly Hours\n40Employee Type\nRegular Work Shift\nRotating (United States of America)Pay Range\n$21.75 - $25.28/HourlyGrade\n3At Mass General Brigham, we believe in recognizing and rewarding the unique value each team member brings to our organization.
