We invite you to apply, and our Physician Recruitment team will provide an overview of your potential compensation and benefits package.\nQualifications\nWound Care Physician - Moonlighting Opportunity\nPosition Overview\nSalem Hospital, a member of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Wound Care Physician for a flexible moonlighting opportunity to provide expert evaluation and management of patients with acute and chronic wounds in the inpatient setting.\nThe physician will work collaboratively with nursing, surgery, podiatry, vascular surgery, infectious disease, nutrition, rehabilitation, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team to develop comprehensive wound management plans and promote optimal healing and patient outcomes.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a physician seeking flexible, part-time clinical work within a well-established academic health system.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform comprehensive evaluation of acute, chronic, surgical, pressure-related, diabetic, vascular, and other complex wounds.\nDevelop and document individualized wound care treatment plans.\nAssess wound etiology, severity, progression, and healing potential.\nRecommend appropriate wound dressings, topical therapies, off-loading strategies, pressure injury prevention measures, and other interventions.\nPerform wound-related procedures within the physician's scope of practice and hospital privileges, as appropriate.\nIdentify patients requiring consultation or intervention from surgery, vascular surgery, podiatry, infectious disease, or other specialties.\nCollaborate with nursing staff and hospital-based wound care specialists to ensure consistent implementation of treatment plans.\nProvide education to patients, families, and clinical staff regarding wound prevention and management.\nParticipate in multidisciplinary discussions regarding complex wounds and patients at high risk for skin breakdown.\nMaintain timely, accurate, and comprehensive medical documentation in the electronic medical record.\nPractice in accordance with Salem Hospital and Mass General Brigham policies, clinical standards, and quality and safety initiatives.\nQualifications\nMD or DO from an accredited medical school.\nBoard certification or board eligibility in an appropriate specialty such as Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Podiatry, or another relevant specialty.\nDemonstrated clinical experience or specialized training in wound care preferred.\nMassachusetts medical license or eligibility for Massachusetts licensure.\nEligible for medical staff privileges at Salem Hospital.\nCurrent BLS certification; additional certifications relevant to wound care are desirable.\nExcellent clinical judgment, communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.\nPreferred Experience\nCandidates with experience in one or more of the following are particularly encouraged to apply:\nInpatient wound care\nChronic wound management\nPressure injuries\nDiabetic foot wounds\nVenous and arterial ulcers\nSurgical wounds\nComplex or non-healing wounds\nWound debridement\nNegative pressure wound therapy\nOff-loading and pressure injury prevention\nMultidisciplinary wound care\nSchedule\nFlexible moonlighting coverage based on hospital needs and physician availability.\nPotential scheduling may include weekdays, weekends, evenings, or other mutually agreed-upon shifts.
