Do you enjoy developing software models to add realism and scale to scenarios? This role blends virtual and constructive players with live hardware models to achieve the most realistic testbed outside of testing in the real-world. Your skills as a physics or software modeller will be showcased as part of our first-of-its-kind synthetic range.\nWith the continued proliferation of visible light-based (electro-optical) game engines, the use of state-of-the-art commercially available software is a must in any synthetic range. This is just one region of the electromagnetic spectrum our solution has to cover. In addition to visible light, the range must also model infra-red (IR) and Radio Frequency (RF) interactions, all whilst ensuring these scene generation tools are coherent and aligned.\nWorking full-time at our St Neots site, you will help deliver high-importance synthetic trials to a variety of government and industry partners, each with their own requirements to be verified. Your ability to develop and use spectrum-wide scene generation and behavioural models, whilst ensure simulation runs are automated and repeatable will greatly impact the success of these trials.\nThe invaluable experience you’ll bring, to help us achieve more.\nEssential:\nExperience writing test automation scripts for real-time systems (MATLAB, Python, LabView etc.).\nExperience working within a Virtual or Constructive environments (e.g. integrating software models, scripting behaviours, and synchronising outputs).\nExperience integrating software or hardware models (deployed to bespoke real-time operating systems), using ICDs/APIs to ensure behaviour and timings are correct.\nAbility to solve problems in a methodical manner.\nSTEM degree.\nDesirable:\nGeneration of test harnesses for software model interfaces (TCP/IP, UDP, JTAG, UART, Digital IQ etc.).\nDevelopment of virtual scenarios (including players, terrain, atmosphere, behaviour) using commercial software (VR Forces, MACE, VBS4, Infinite Studio etc.) to meet customer testing requirements.\nFamiliarity with synchronisation and timing architectures.\nKnowledge of network architectures and debugging/fault finding (packet loss/delay, rubber-banding etc.).\nAwareness of software development best-practices (source control, unit testing etc.).\nKnowledge of EW systems.\nWellbeing is at the core to our culture, allowing employees to flourish and to achieve their full potential.
