We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our team, providing in-hangar support to the NATO Joint Electronic Warfare Core Staff (NATO JEWCS) fleet of Electronic Warfare training assets.\nWorking within a highly specialised environment, you will play a key role in the development, maintenance and enhancement of Electronic Warfare software and hardware systems, ensuring the continued availability and effectiveness of mission-critical training capabilities.\nThis is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work across software development, systems integration, RF technologies and Electronic Warfare applications, supporting both project delivery and operational activities.\nWhat you'll be doing\nActing as a software subject matter expert, providing development, maintenance and training support to ensure the continued availability, utility and relevance of EW training assets.\nUndertaking integrated software and hardware modifications to enhance Electronic Warfare training capabilities.\nDeveloping and maintaining control software and Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) / Man Machine Interfaces (MMI).\nPerforming configuration management activities for customer-owned source code and bespoke EW application software.\nSupporting trials, evaluation activities and exercises, including occasional deployment to exercise locations or NATO platforms.\nTroubleshooting, investigating and resolving software and hardware issues within complex Electronic Warfare systems.\nCollaborating with engineers, technicians and customers to deliver innovative technical solutions.\nGeneral Profile\nRequires in-depth knowledge of principles and practices in at least one of the working areas of software development and basic knowledge of other areas.\nWorks with a high degree of autonomy, applying professional judgement and technical expertise to solve complex problems.\nResponds flexibly to emerging challenges and is able to deliver effective solutions with minimal supervision.\nContributes to the continuous improvement of Electronic Warfare training capabilities and associated systems.\nJob Functional Knowledge\nRequires in-depth practical knowledge in at least one of the working areas of software development and basic practical knowledge of other areas.\nApplies software engineering and software development principles to develop, integrate and maintain systems and applications.\nAble to identify faults, investigate root causes and implement effective corrective actions.\nUnderstands software lifecycle practices, configuration management and system integration activities.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nDegree, HND, HNC or equivalent experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.\nExperience developing, integrating and maintaining software systems.\nC++ and/or C#.\nExperience developing and maintaining software applications within a technical or engineering environment.\nStrong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to obtain and maintain NATO Secret (NS) Security Clearance.\nDesirable Skills & Experience\nLabVIEW developer \nExperience working with API interfaces.\nKnowledge and/or experience working on one or more of: radar/microwave, avionics, communications, electronic warfare.
