To oversee the financial well-being of the store and handle all associated reporting. \n\nDuties & Responsibilities\nTrading Performance\n\n Effectively manage the sales and margin mix\n\n Manage and monitor P&L\n\n Control and Limit expenses\n\n Manage the store budget\n\n Manage cash flow and working capital in the store\n\n Manage customer credit and debtors\n\n Manage and facilitate the in store buying process including but not limited to developing and executing the stores pricing strategy \n\n Negotiate KVI and commodities with suppliers and attain the best prices\n\n Ensure profitable closure of deals or goods sold and increase sales as per targets\n\n Regularly conduct a competitor analysis to ensure competitiveness\n\n Implement and maintain systems to ensure that Finance Administration is efficiently implemented in the store in line with applicable policies and procedures\n\n Monitor and ensure that all relevant data is correct and sent to relevant stakeholders timeously\n\n Effective support of Central Services Finance team on ad hoc basis\n\n Efficient and accurate record keeping of related documentation\n\n Effectively manage category of top customers through analysis i.e. growth vs trends, inflation and GMROM\n\n Develop and execute a clear category strategy, contribution and margins \n\nImplementation of Business Strategies and Goals\n\n Plan and implement business goals in the stores effectively according to set timelines\n\n Plan, execute and monitor store targets against set targets for the financial year \n\n Ensure adequate staffing according to company recruitment policy and procedure\n\n Ensure that floor standards are at the required standard as per company policy and procedures and or directive from Regional Operations Manager\n\n Ensure that merchandising and space layouts are of the required standard\n\n Effectively manage shrinkage and stock levels in the store according to company processes and procedures as well as due attention to the safety standards\n\n Execute and monitor store promotions \n\nBuilding Effective Stakeholder Relationships\n\n Build and maintain effective relationships with Central Service staff, suppliers and customers to ensure sustainability in the business\n\n Build and maintain good consultative relationships with MASSCASH head office Finance team so as to facilitate effective upwards and downwards communication \n\n Regularly conduct a customer analysis to maintain and grow customer base this includes obtaining good knowledge of customer’s store, size, location, range, ‘catchment areas’ etc.\n\n Build lasting relationships with customers and understand their needs\n\n Effectively service Banner memberships \n\nStaff Management\n\n Ensure that staff is performance managed, appraised and developed\n\n Monitor staff attendance to ensure optimum productivity\n\n Advise and coach line managers in the need and effective use of a performance management system\n\n Minimise shrinkage and breakages\n\n Ensure that your team members know, understand and adhere to company rules and procedures. Investigate and/or Report suspicious occurrences or people to Risk Department\n\n Ensure that staff is trained and developed\n\n Follow company disciplinary and grievance procedure when misconduct or staff disputes arise. Notify Regional HR Manager of all IR issues \n\nSafety and Security\n\n Ensure that staff is trained on all relevant safety procedures as per OHS Act in liaison with L&D Team\n\n All incidents are reported to the risk team \n\nEffective Self-Management\n\n Demonstrate consistent application of internal policies and procedures\n\n Escalate identified problems to relevant business managers\n\n Promote harmony and teamwork\n\n Promote sharing of knowledge through informal and formal channels\n\n Apply knowledge of the organisational systems, structures, policies and procedures to achieve strategic objectives \n\n Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained\n\n Maintain a positive attitude\n\n Respond openly to feedback \n\n Take ownership for driving own career development \n\n Manage own development (skills and knowledge)\n\n Plan and prioritise, demonstrating abilities to manage competing demands\n\n Communicate effectively, maintaining relationships \n\nDesired Experience & Qualification\n\n Relevant tertiary education in Administration, Finance related and or related field;
