You will combine Agile leadership with deep technical capability in Java-based microservices, enabling you to actively challenge code, influence engineering decisions, and drive DevOps best practices across AWS platforms.\nYou will operate as a technical authority within the squad, working closely with the Technical Delivery Manager, Product Owners, Architects, Developers, and Test Engineers to ensure high-quality, secure, and predictable delivery of application and DevOps initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nAgile Delivery Leadership\nLead Scrum ceremonies and ensure effective sprint planning, execution, and delivery outcomes.\nDrive predictable delivery across Java microservices development and DevOps initiatives.\nCollaborate with the Technical Delivery Manager to manage sprint risks, dependencies, and commitments.\nTechnical Leadership & Engineering Oversight\nReview and challenge Java and Spring Boot microservices code to ensure adherence to clean code, performance, scalability, and security best practices.\nProvide technical leadership on microservices design, API standards, and service-to-service communication.\nInfluence engineering decisions related to Java frameworks, design patterns, and implementation approaches.\nPartner with architects to ensure microservices are aligned with AWS cloud-native principles.\nDrive code quality improvements through reviews, static analysis, and test coverage.\nDevOps & Engineering Excellence\nDrive CI/CD pipeline optimisation for Java-based services, including build, test, and deployment automation.\nPromote DevSecOps practices, including secure coding, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code.\nEnsure effective integration of microservices into deployment pipelines and runtime environments.\nImprove observability across services (logging, monitoring, alerting).\nTeam & Delivery Management\nProvide day-to-day technical leadership to Java developers and test engineers.\nHold teams accountable for code quality, microservices standards, and delivery outcomes.\nSupport backlog refinement with strong focus on technical enablers and microservices dependencies.\nGovernance, Metrics & Continuous Improvement\nTrack delivery using DORA metrics and engineering KPIs.\nMonitor pipeline performance, defect rates, and service reliability.\nSupport production issue resolution with code-level root cause analysis.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nStrong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot microservices development (mandatory).\nProven ability to read, review, and challenge Java code in a DevOps environment.\nExperience building and supporting RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.\n5+ years Scrum Master experience in cloud/DevOps environments.\nStrong AWS experience (EC2, Lambda, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).\nExpertise in CI/CD for Java applications (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.).\nExperience with Docker and container platforms (ECS/EKS).\nStrong understanding of testing strategies for microservices.\nExperience working in regulated environments.\nDesirable Qualifications\nScrum certifications (CSM / PSM)\nSAFe certifications\nAWS certifications\nExperience in SC-cleared environments\nWhat We Are Looking For\nA hands-on Technical Scrum Master with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise.\nAbility to challenge engineers on code, design, and implementation decisions.\nStrong engineering mindset focused on quality, performance, and scalability.\nProven ability to lead developers and testers in a high-performing Agile team.\nPassion for DevOps, automation, and continuous improvement.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4022,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United Kingdom","iso":"GB","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["IT Consulting & Digital Transformation","Enterprise Apps Implementation Partners"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-09T03:15:10Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"GB","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Licensed UK visa sponsor (Skilled Worker, Senior or Specialist Worker, Graduate Trainee)","filings_12m":null,"filings_prev_12m":null,"green_card_filings_12m":null,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":"Skilled Worker;
