The Team Lead provides day-to-day direction to team members to support safe operations, quality standards, production schedules, material flow, and customer requirements.\nThe Team Lead serves as a working leader who helps coordinate daily production activities, assigns work, supports training, monitors workflow, identifies production issues, and communicates operational concerns to the Production Supervisor. The Team Lead is expected to lead by example while maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and productive work environment.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nEssential job functions include, but are not limited to:\nConduct daily department start-up activities and communicate production priorities, assignments, and expectations to team members.\nAssist with paint line and Pack area setup to ensure personnel, materials, equipment, tools, and work areas are ready for production.\nAssign daily jobs and work activities to team members based on production requirements, schedules, skill levels, and available resources.\nTrain, coach, and assist team members in performing assigned duties safely, efficiently, and according to established quality standards.\nMonitor production activities to ensure work is completed according to schedules, routers, work instructions, and customer specifications.\nMaintain appropriate workflow and material flow through the Paint/Pack area to minimize delays and interruptions.\nEnsure adequate production materials, containers, fixtures, hooks, tools, and other necessary supplies are available to support production.\nMonitor the loading and unloading of parts from the paint line and ensure parts are handled, inspected, and staged appropriately.\nMonitor the inspection of painted parts for damage, rust, dents, watermarks, paint damage, and other quality concerns.\nAssist in determining the appropriate disposition of non-conforming parts and communicate quality concerns to the Production Supervisor.\nMonitor assembly, packaging, staging, and other Paint/Pack activities to ensure production and quality requirements are met.\nPerform in-process and final inspections as needed to support quality requirements.\nIdentify potential production problems, including material shortages, equipment issues, staffing concerns, quality issues, and schedule delays, and promptly notify the Production Supervisor.\nAssist with troubleshooting production issues and implement direction provided by Production Management.\nEnsure team members follow established safety procedures, work instructions, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.\nMaintain good housekeeping and an organized work environment throughout the Paint/Pack area.\nEnsure materials are properly recycled, disposed of, or staged according to company requirements.\nComplete and maintain production records, checklists, forms, and other required documentation accurately and timely.\nCommunicate production status, staffing concerns, quality issues, material shortages, equipment problems, and other relevant information to the Production Supervisor.\nSupport cross-training and development of team members to improve department flexibility and production coverage.\nAssist management with maintaining reasonable production standards, quality expectations, and department performance.\nPerform production work alongside team members when necessary to support departmental needs and production requirements.\nPerform other miscellaneous and non-recurring duties as assigned.\nLEADERSHIP AND TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Team Lead is expected to:\nProvide clear daily direction and work assignments to team members.\nLead by example in attendance, work ethic, safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism.\nPromote teamwork, accountability, and effective communication within the department.\nAssist new and existing team members with job training and proper work methods.\nRecognize and communicate performance, safety, quality, attendance, or behavioral concerns to the Production Supervisor.\nSupport management in maintaining a productive and respectful work environment.\nHelp ensure that department priorities are understood and completed according to schedule.\nServe as a primary point of contact for team members regarding day-to-day production questions while escalating issues requiring management involvement.\nThe Team Lead does not independently administer disciplinary action, employment decisions, or other management actions unless specifically authorized by Production Management.\nCRITICAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nThe successful candidate must have the ability to:\nFollow written and verbal instructions and effectively communicate expectations to others.\nLead and organize a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nWork independently while appropriately escalating issues to management.\nRead and understand production schedules, routers, work instructions, bills of material, prints, and/or drawings as applicable to assigned work.\nUnderstand customer-specific production requirements and quality expectations.\nIdentify production, quality, material, and equipment issues and communicate them effectively.\nTrain and assist employees with production processes and proper work methods.\nMaintain accurate records and complete required forms and documentation.\nManage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.\nWork effectively with Production, Quality, Materials, Maintenance, and other departments.\nDemonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.\nUse hand tools and hand-held power tools as required for assigned production activities.\nMaintain regular and dependable attendance.\nWork overtime and/or adjusted schedules as business needs require.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious manufacturing, production, Paint/Pack, assembly, or transportation manufacturing experience.\nPrevious experience serving as a Team Lead, Lead, Trainer, or other informal leadership role.\nExperience training or directing production employees.\nExperience working with production schedules, routers, bills of material, prints, or work instructions.\nDemonstrated knowledge of quality and safety practices in a manufacturing environment.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nEmployees in this position may be required to:\nStand and walk for the majority of the work shift.\nFrequently bend, kneel, squat, reach, twist, stoop, climb, and work in various physical positions.\nReach overhead and handle parts and materials throughout the workday.\nLift, carry, push, and/or pull materials and parts weighing approximately 25 pounds, with or without assistance or equipment.\nUse hand-held power tools such as drills, impact guns, ratchets, and pop rivet guns as required.\nUse hands and fingers to grasp, move, position, assemble, inspect, and handle various-sized parts and materials.\nWork around manufacturing equipment, paint line operations, moving materials, and other production activities.\nWear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nRemain physically active for extended periods of time.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nThe Team Lead works primarily in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment and is regularly exposed to production equipment, moving materials, noise, and other conditions associated with a manufacturing facility.\nThe Team Lead must maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and consistently follow all applicable safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe Team Lead provides day-to-day work direction, job assignments, training, and operational guidance to assigned Paint/Pack team members.\nThis position assists the Production Supervisor with the coordination of personnel and production activities but does not have independent authority to make hiring, termination, compensation, or formal disciplinary decisions unless specifically delegated by
