This role requires a balance of technical depth, ownership, and strong execution focus.\nYou will lead teams working on systems that handle high-volume transaction data, provide secure and efficient scalable, high-performance backend systems\nGuide teams building services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs\nEnsure systems are designed for high throughput, data processing, and reliable data access\nDrive adherence to engineering best practices, design standards, and code quality\nIdentify technical risks, dependencies, and system optimisation opportunities\nDelivery Ownership & Execution\nOwn end-to-end delivery from planning through production deployment\nEnsure strong engineering readiness (requirements, design, dependencies)\nDrive predictable execution with clear milestones and timelines\nProactively manage risks, blockers, and cross-team dependencies\nOperational Excellence\nEnsure systems meet expectations for reliability, scalability, and performance\nDrive adoption of monitoring, observability, and incident management practices\nSupport teams in resolving production issues and improving system stability\nContinuously improve engineering processes, improvement\nProvide coaching, feedback, and career development support\nHire and grow strong engineering talent\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\n10+ years of experience in software engineering with leadership experience\nStrong experience delivering distributed, large-scale backend systems\nHands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, and REST-based services\nExperience in microservices and event-driven architectures\nStrong understanding of data storage systems (RDBMS / NoSQL) and data access patterns\nExperience with messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka or similar)\nExposure to large-scale data systems or storage platforms is a strong advantage\nExperience with CI/CD, containerisation, and cloud-native development\nUnderstanding of system reliability, observability, and performance
