We are seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to drive the engineering, automation, reliability, and operational excellence of Oracle and PostgreSQL platforms across on-premises and AWS cloud environments.\nThis role combines deep database expertise, cloud engineering, DevOps automation, and technical leadership to deliver resilient platforms that enable Mastercard's next generation of payment solutions.\nRole\nAs a Lead Platform Engineer, you will:\nLead the design, build, automation, and support of Oracle and PostgreSQL database platforms.\nEngineer highly available and resilient solutions using Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, PostgreSQL Replication, and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.\nDrive AWS cloud adoption and modernization initiatives across database and infrastructure platforms.\nDevelop Infrastructure-as-Code and automation solutions to improve provisioning, deployment, patching, monitoring, and recovery processes.\nImplement and enhance CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery while maintaining security and compliance.\nPartner with Software Engineering, SRE, Security, and Product teams to deliver reliable and scalable services.\nLead performance optimization, capacity planning, observability, disaster recovery, and operational excellence initiatives.\nProvide technical leadership during major incidents, root cause analysis, and platform improvement activities.\nMentor engineers and champion engineering best practices, automation, and continuous improvement.\nAll About You\nExtensive hands-on experience with Oracle Database administration and engineering, including RAC, ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.\nStrong expertise in PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, replication, backup, recovery, and high availability.\nExperience designing and supporting large-scale production platforms in AWS, including Aurora, RDS, EC2, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, and S3.\nStrong DevOps and automation experience using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or similar technologies.\nProficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Shell, Bash, or PowerShell.\nExperience implementing monitoring and observability solutions such as OEM, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, or CloudWatch.\nStrong understanding of database security, operational resilience, disaster recovery, and compliance requirements.\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical execution in a fast-paced environment.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience within financial services, payments, or other high-volume transaction processing environments.\nKnowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and cloud-native platform technologies.\nExperience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and platform modernization initiatives.\nAWS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, or related cloud certifications.\nExperience driving automation, self-service platforms, and AI-assisted operational capabilities.\nCorporate Security Responsibility\nAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks come with an inherent risk to the organization.
