This includes real-time and batch clearing, instant payments, participant-facing services, liquidity and settlement capabilities, reporting, and related payment infrastructure.\nYou will help ensure these services are reliable, secure, and resilient by applying strong engineering practices, automation, production ownership, and continuous improvement.\nWhat you will do:\nDesign, build, integrate, and improve secure, scalable applications and services.\nTake ownership of complex service issues and coordinate resolution across teams.\nWork with product partners and stakeholders on priorities, trade-offs, and technical roadmaps.\nImprove delivery quality through automation, code reviews, testing, scanning, and standard engineering practices.\nUse incident learnings to strengthen stability, resilience, and continuous improvement.\nIntroduce new technologies and reusable patterns within enterprise guidelines.\nHow you will lead:\nProvide hands-on technical guidance on architecture, development, and engineering practices.\nCollaborate across teams, functions, and organisations to deliver shared outcomes.\nEncourage knowledge sharing, reusable patterns, and active engineering communities.\nSupport fair, evidence-based hiring and promotion input when needed.\nWhat you bring:\nStrong experience designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining production software systems.\nGood understanding of architecture patterns, system design, performance, resilience, and maintainability.\nExperience with secure coding, code quality, code reviews, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.\nPractical knowledge of automation, DevOps toolchains, cloud-native patterns, and service integration.\nExperience building testing into delivery, including unit, functional, integration, regression, performance, resilience, and acceptance testing.\nAbility to collaborate across teams, mentor engineers, and influence engineering practices.\nTechnical experience:\nCore Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Maven, Jenkins, Linux, Git, Oracle, and Docker.\nReact JS is an advantage.\nExperience using AI-assisted tools to develop code is welcome.\nWhat success looks like:\nYou will succeed in this role if you enjoy combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership, sound judgement, and the ability to influence outcomes across services and teams.
