The role connects customer needs with Mastercard’s gateway, product, delivery and technology capabilities, helping customers adopt new services, navigate product changes and gain greater value from their payment solutions. It combines deep payments knowledge with customer management, technical fluency and commercial judgement. The successful candidate will work with acquirers, merchants, payment service providers and internal teams to assess requirements, coordinate solutions and identify opportunities for growth. The role requires strong technical fluency in payment flows, APIs and integrations, with the ability to navigate complex technical discussions across both business and technology stakeholders.Role\nAct as a trusted technical product partner for key Merchant Cloud customers, building strong relationships and managing ongoing gateway-related priorities.\nLead regular customer discussions covering product developments, payment mandates, technical issues, service changes and growth opportunities.\nTranslate customer objectives and technical requests into clear requirements, preliminary assessments and recommended next steps.\nCoordinate Product, Sales, Account Management, Technology, Delivery and Support teams to progress customer initiatives and resolve issues.\nDevelop business cases and product-intake submissions that balance customer value, commercial opportunity and technical feasibility.\nSupport solution positioning, pre-sales discussions and RFP responses by providing credible gateway and payments expertise.\nIdentify opportunities to increase product adoption, payment volume and customer value across existing relationships.\nAdvocate for customer and market requirements within regional and global product teams.\nSupport the commercialisation of Merchant Cloud capabilities and the transition towards more standardised, scalable customer solutions.\nMonitor relevant payment, acceptance and commerce developments and translate them into practical implications for customers and Mastercard.\nAll About You\nExperience in gateway services, merchant acquiring, e-commerce payments, payment processing or a closely related payments environment.\nKnowledge of payment authorisation, authentication, clearing and settlement, including the roles of gateways, acquirers and merchants.\nUnderstanding of APIs, SDKs, integrations and digital payment technologies, with the ability to engage credibly without being a hands-on developer.\nExperience in assessing customer or business requirements and translating them into technical solutions, product requests or delivery actions.\nAbility to explain complex payment and technology concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nConfidence in engaging with customers and navigating technical and business conversations, with prior customer-facing experience considered an advantage.\nAbility to influence decisions and progress work across a complex, matrixed organisation without direct authority.\nExperience in building trusted relationships with customers, partners and senior internal stakeholders.\nCommercial awareness, with the ability to connect customer priorities to product adoption, business value and growth opportunities.\n• Ability to take ownership,
