Our systems process:\nOver 90% of UK salaries\nMore than 70% of household bills\nAlmost all state benefit payments\nJoining Vocalink means contributing to systems that millions rely on daily.\nThe Opportunity\nWe are seeking a Manager, Site Reliability Engineer to support the Production Manager in overseeing a team of individual contributors who support the Card Transaction Services and Faster Payment Services.\nThis role combines line management responsibilities and hands-on technical support. The post holder will be accountable for both the successful delivery of technical outcomes and the leadership, development and wellbeing of a team of engineers. Success in the role requires technical expertise within BASE24 alongside proven people leadership, coaching and stakeholder management skills.\nKey Responsibilities\nAlongside technical delivery responsibilities, this role includes direct people management of a small team of engineers which you will:\nProvide day-to-day leadership, coaching and support to team members.\nSupport recruitment activities, including interviewing, selection and onboarding of new team members.\nPromote employee engagement, wellbeing and retention.\nSupport succession planning and talent development within the team.\nAct as an escalation point for people-related matters and work closely with HR and senior leadership when required.\nSupport and contribute to continuous improvement\nBASE24 Experience\nExperience with BASE24 is ideal and related technologies in a live production environment is highly desirable, including:\nHP NonStop systems\nPathway, GoldenGate, and electronic file transfer tools\nTACL, TAL, COBOL, SQL (Enscribe), Enform\nTACL scripting\nATM Driving\nCard authentication, authorization, and EMV standards\nProtocols and standards such as ISO8583 and LIS5\nHSMs, cryptology and TLS\nAdditional Responsibilities\nDrive innovation in production support, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and tooling\nContribute to the production support strategy and roadmap, including technology selection\nCollaborate with stakeholders to design and implement effective solutions\nInvestigate production issues and perform root cause analysis\nSkills & Experience\nStrong communication, organisation, and time management skills\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex systems under pressure\nExperience in 24/7 support
