The role includes preparing journal entries, balance sheet and income statement schedules, and supporting monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. The accountant will also perform account reconciliations, monitor compliance with accounting standards and internal controls, and support audits and regulatory reporting. Will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies, improve processes, and provide timely financial information to support business decision-making.\nWorking Location: (Philippines)\nRole type: Full time, permanent role with Mastercard Philippines\nThe Role\nExecute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities\nPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis\nEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial data and reporting\nMaintain and enforce internal controls and audit compliance (e.g., SOX)\nSupport statutory reporting and external audit requirements\nInvestigate and resolve reconciliation breaks and financial discrepancies\nDrive process improvements, automation, and standardization initiatives\nDevelop and maintain SOPs and documentation for audit readiness\nPartner with cross-functional teams on accounting matters and new initiatives\nAll about You\nDemonstrates knowledge of accounting principles and delivers accurate work\nGains exposure to basic issue resolution and the escalation process (e.g. financial trends)\nParticipates in and gains exposure to the implementation of process improvement activities\nExperience building an internal network and engaging with business partners\nMay be exposed to producing internal and external reports\nFinance/Accounting qualification is a must\nProficiency with accounting and finance systems/software applications e.g. Excel and Oracle.\nKnowledge of Internal Control concepts.\nDetailed orientated with strong analytical and financial skills supported by excellent interpersonal and communication skills.\nExperience operating in a diverse, multi-functional finance group across time zones is a plus.\nMust be able to integrate
