The Senior Data Engineer will also contribute to cloud modernization, platform architecture, automation, and operational excellence across the Marketing Services data ecosystem.\nRole:\nDesign, build, deploy, and maintain scalable batch, streaming, and real-time data pipelines.\nDevelop reusable frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery.\nBuild and support enterprise data lake, data warehouse, and lakehouse solutions.\nImprove platform scalability, performance, reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.\nImplement data quality, observability, governance, security, lineage, and monitoring capabilities.\nEnable reporting, advanced analytics, experimentation, AI/ML, and customer insight use cases.\nSupport the migration of legacy platforms to modern cloud-native architectures.\nEstablish engineering standards across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing, automation, and production support.\nTroubleshoot complex production issues and lead root-cause analysis to improve service reliability.\nPartner with product, engineering, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.\nMentor engineers and provide technical leadership across data initiatives.\nContribute to architectural decisions and technology roadmaps for Marketing Services data platforms.\nAll About You:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related technical field.\nStrong experience designing scalable data platforms and distributed data-processing solutions.\nProficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.\nExperience with technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Hadoop, or comparable large-scale data-processing frameworks.\nExperience building data pipelines for analytics, reporting, machine learning, and operational data products.\nStrong understanding of data modelling, ETL/ELT patterns, data architecture, and data lifecycle management.\nExperience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.\nKnowledge of data governance, security, privacy, lineage, metadata management, and regulatory requirements.\nExperience with Git, CI/CD, DevOps automation, infrastructure as code, testing, deployment, and observability.\nStrong problem-solving skills with experience diagnosing complex issues in distributed environments.\nAbility to balance technical quality with business priorities and customer outcomes.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, product, analytics, and business teams.\nPreferred Experience:\nExperience leading technical initiatives, influencing architectural decisions, or mentoring engineers.\nExperience modernizing legacy data platforms or supporting cloud migration programmes.\nExposure to marketing technology, campaign measurement, customer insights, or marketing analytics.\n• Advanced degree in a related technical discipline.Mastercard is a merit-based, inclusive, equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, disabled or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
