Our technology and innovation, partnerships and networks combine to deliver a unique set of products and services that help people, businesses and governments realize their greatest potential.\nTitle and Summary\nSenior Economic AnalystOverviewThe Mastercard Economics Institute (MEI) is an economics lab that powers scale at Mastercard by owning economic thought leadership in support of Mastercard’s efforts to build a more inclusive and sustainable digital economy.\nMEI was launched in 2020 to analyze economic trends through the lens of the consumer to deliver tailored and actionable insights on economic issues for customers, partners and policymakers.\nThe Institute is composed of a team of economists and data scientists that utilize & synthesize the anonymized and aggregated data from the Mastercard network together with public data to bring powerful insights to life, in the form of 1:1 presentations, global thought leadership, media participation, and commercial work through the company’s product suites.\n________________________________________________________________________________________________\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a senior economic analyst with strong data analysis skills who will focus on creating custom and actionable data insights. This individual will be a member of the team covering the European region and have the following responsibilities:\nExplore and analyze Mastercard’s large-scale datasets and third-party data using PySpark, SQL, R, and Python to generate relevant insights for MEI\nVisualize insights using Tableau and HTML, and support the development of compelling narratives for tailored presentations\nContribute to outlooks and blog-style research notes utilizing unique economic data\nAssist in creating content to represent Mastercard in customer forums and industry events positioning us as an industry leader with highly differentiated capabilities\nWork with the data scientists and consulting teams to explore alternative data sets and forecasting to push the boundaries in more traditional economics using big data\nHelp drive the story creation for tailored presentations\n________________________________________________________________________________________________\nAbout you\nA trained data analyst or data scientist with 3-4 years of professional experience, or with a Master's degree or higher in data Science, economics or a related field, along with 2+ years of hands-on data analysis experience.\nExperience with SQL, R, Python, Tableau and other analytical tools\nStrong collaborator across teams within the institute and broader Mastercard\nEvidence of both orthodox and experimental approaches in economic thinking and application with an entrepreneurial mindset\nManage complex projects and timelines effectively\n• Ability to write concise, compelling narratives\nCorporate Security Responsibility\nAll activities involving access to
