We are on an exciting transformation journey, with Databricks at the centre of our future data platform.\nYou will play an important role in designing and building our new Databricks-based data platform, from architecture and data modelling to pipelines and implementation. A key part of the journey will be understanding our existing Azure data landscape, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse and SQL-based data warehouses. and helping us evolve and migrate them towards a modern, scalable data platform.\nIn this role, you will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across the business and take significant responsibility for translating business requirements into robust technical solutions. You will also contribute technical guidance and share knowledge around data architecture, engineering practices and development processes.\nWe are working towards becoming an even more data-driven organisation and are making significant investments in AI and modern data capabilities. You will work with complex data models and large volumes of data from across Matas Group, including our membership club, stores and e-commerce platforms.\nWe offer a role with significant opportunities to learn, contribute and influence our technical direction. From day one, your work will make a difference, and you will become part of a team with an important role in Matas Group's data transformation.\nData Engineer with Databricks experience\nWe are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. We also expect you to have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering or a related field.\nIn addition, we are looking for someone with:\nHands-on experience with Databricks and building data pipelines and solutions on the platform\nStrong knowledge of Python and SQL\nExperience developing and maintaining robust, scalable data platforms and ETL/ELT pipelines\nExperience working with Azure SQL-based data warehouses and an interest in modernising and migrating legacy data solutions\nExperience designing, building and optimising data models, data warehouses and data marts to support business decision-making\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication skills and experience working in cross-functional teams\nExperience with Power BI and building semantic models is considered an advantage.\nWe invest in you\nAt Matas Group, our purpose is …for beautiful lives, being your true companion throughout all stages of life.
