work:\nThis is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration in Ghent three times per week.\nThe Team or Role:\nAs a Data Scientist Intern on Tinder’s Modes team in Ghent, you’ll help build new ways for people to meet on Tinder, from group and shared experiences to new modes of using the app. You’ll work with product, engineering, and data science partners to understand how members use these experiences, define how we measure success, and turn insights into product decisions.\nIn this role, you will:\nAnalyze how members discover, adopt, and engage with new social and group experiences.\n\nHelp define success metrics and funnels for new, still-evolving products.\n\nDesign and analyze experiments, including cases where members interact with each other and standard A/B assumptions don’t hold.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional partners in Data Science, Product, and Engineering to translate insights into actionable strategies.\n\nPresent key findings and project outcomes to Product and Leadership teams during end-of-internship demos.\n\nTranslate data insights into clear narratives and recommendations that inform product roadmaps and user experience improvements.\n\nSize opportunities and answer product questions to inform roadmap decisions.\n\nYou’ll Need:\nPassion for using data and experimentation to solve complex problems.\n\nIntermediate to advanced SQL skills for data querying and analysis.\n\nWorking proficiency in Python.\n\nStrong foundation in statistics, probability, and experimentation.\n\nClear written communication, including explaining findings to non-technical partners.\n\nStrong product sense and curiosity about how people connect socially.\n\nComfort using AI tools (e.g., LLM-based coding and analysis assistants) as a regular part of your workflow, and the judgment to check their output.\n\nCurrently pursuing a BS/BA, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Economics, Statistics, Applied Math, or a related field.\n\nNice to have: experience with network or social data, or with experiments where members
