This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge RF, microwave, radar, avionics, and communications systems that support critical defence and national security programmes.\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for the design, simulation, development, testing, and optimisation of advanced antenna systems across a range of military and aerospace applications. You will work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams including RF, Electronics, Systems, Mechanical, and EMC specialists to deliver high-performance solutions meeting demanding operational requirements.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and develop antenna systems for Defence, Aerospace and Communications applications.\nPerform antenna modelling, simulation and optimisation using industry-standard EM tools.\nDesign antennas covering HF, VHF, UHF, L, S, C, X and Ku band applications.\nConduct electromagnetic analysis and performance assessments.\nDevelop phased arrays, multifunction antennas, airborne antennas and conformal antenna solutions.\nGenerate technical reports, design documentation and engineering artefacts.\nSupport antenna prototyping, integration and qualification testing.\nUndertake RF measurements and validation in laboratory and anechoic chamber environments.\nAnalyse antenna performance characteristics including:Gain\nRadiation patterns\nEfficiency\nBandwidth\nPolarisation\nVSWR\nImpedance matching\n\nSupport system-level integration with RF front-end and communications equipment.\nWork alongside certification and compliance teams to ensure regulatory and military standards are achieved.\nParticipate in design reviews and customer technical meetings.\nEssential Skills & Experience\nDegree qualified in:Electronic Engineering\nRF Engineering\nTelecommunications Engineering\nPhysics\nMathematics or equivalent STEM discipline\n\nProven experience designing and developing RF and microwave antenna systems.\nStrong understanding of:Electromagnetic theory\nRF propagation\nMicrowave engineering\nAntenna theory\n\nExperience using EM simulation tools such as:CST Microwave Studio\nHFSS (Ansys)\nFEKO\nADS\nEMPro\n\nKnowledge of antenna measurement techniques and RF testing.\nFamiliarity with network analysers, spectrum analysers and RF test equipment.\nAbility to interpret complex technical specifications and requirements.\nExperience producing engineering documentation to a high standard.\nDesirable Experience\nDefence, Aerospace or Avionics experience.\nActive or previously held SC Clearance.\nPhased Array Antenna design.\nAESA Radar systems.\nElectronic Warfare (EW) systems.\nSATCOM antenna technologies.\nAirborne communication systems.\nUAV/UAS antenna integration.\nMissile guidance or radar programmes.\nMIMO and beamforming technologies.\nEMC/EMI compliance testing.\nAntenna integration into harsh environments.\nKey Technologies\nRF & Microwave
