The Assistant Project Manager (APM) will assist project managers (PM) on a variety distribution or substation and transmission line projects of varying complexity. This position will manage and act as a coordinator and project liaison to the client, subcontractors, vendors, and other stakeholders, throughout the project. The APM will maintain document control, manage databases and coordinate and track project activities and communications so project goals are accomplished within the prescribed timeframe and budget parameters.\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist in the management of projects from concept through completion, including siting, environmental, permitting, planning, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, project controls, RFP and contract services, procurement, constructability reviews, material management, construction management, and project closeout.\nMonitor and manage project scope.\nManage contractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), supplemental design instructions, and site drawing logs.\nVerify contractor compliance with quality, safety, environmental, and material management requirements.\nSupport contract execution, including change order management, field change directives, invoice approvals, and schedule management.\nWork with project controls teams to maintain project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, accounting system project setup and closeout, and field progress tracking.\nAssist with the preparation of project budgets, cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.\nParticipate in project risk reviews.\nCoordinate project closeout activities and project documentation.\nCollaborate with programme teams to mitigate project issues and support successful project execution.\nEstablish and track project KPIs and performance metrics across assigned project portfolios.\nPromote and support project safety programmes, policies, training requirements, and the safety performance of project team members and subcontractors.\nUndertake other duties as required.\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline from an accredited programme.\nMinimum of 5 years' applicable experience.\nTechnical & Project Controls Experience\nExperience supporting project controls, scheduling, reporting, cost management, and project administration activities.\nExperience administering contractor documentation and change management processes.\nExperience using Primavera Contract Manager or similar change management software preferred.\nHigh level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nCommunication & Leadership Skills\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.\nAbility to work effectively within a fast-paced and demanding project environment.\nWillingness to work additional hours when required to support project demands.\nAbility to work collaboratively with Owners, Contractors, Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other stakeholders within a multidisciplinary project team environment.\nAbility to resolve design and drawing issues and support successful project delivery through effective coordination and communication.\nPreferred Skills\nExperience with Primavera Contract Manager or equivalent contract/change management systems.\nExperience supporting complex utility, transmission, distribution, substation, or infrastructure projects.\nStrong stakeholder management and coordination abilities across multiple concurrent
